Where is my Tuono review?
@benwells23383 жыл бұрын
The stock exhaust is so nicely integrated into the design, I feel like this is one case where I’d be hesitant to replace it purely for aesthetic reasons. Sure you could get some nice sounds out of a can swap but the cases I’ve seen just look so awkward IMO. Fantastic looking middleweight with high end electronics, love this new category of bike and it seems as more manufacturers are following suit!
@johnny_cash75883 жыл бұрын
I own this bike and thought about getting an aftermarket exhaust because you know, it's the thing we do on our motorcycles right away. BUT this stock setup looks so damn good and integrates with the bike nicely that I have no desire to switch until a nice undermount exhaust is made.

@@johnny_cash7588 I saw an under tail one available already, looks amazing. I think it was on AF1racing but I don’t recall for sure. But I’ve decided to stick with stock for now. It looks and sounds great to me.

@@johnny_cash7588 and hey, to Aprilia’s credit, the stock exhaust doesn’t sound too shabby at all 😉 I guess that’s just money saved for you to buy cool new gear you don’t need. I feel like that’s the story of any motorcyclist’s life, it’s all just an endless money pit of shiny new things 😅

Good video. Got her since 6 months in the same colour...just changed the red seat by the black comfy one...not that the red is not comfy but like a black seat better. You missed to present which I think is a real good and important thing, the integrated GPS. In fact I ordered the bike with some extras like USB charging port but most important the blue tooth module. With that you just download the Aprilia app onto your phone and which has kind of a google map navigation feature which you can actually transfer onto your dashboard. Pretty cool function once you figured out how their menue works. As a tip, your phone needs to grant constant tracking info...which i do not like but just turn it on when needed plus once phone n bike connected and you set your destination on the phone you need to push down the right menue switch on the left handle bar for about 5 sec to make it appear on the dash board. As per the rear brake I noticed the same as useless....till I actually started to perform a proper bleeding. There was so much air coming out of it that I think Aprilia do miss this task prior bike delivery. Since then it works great ! To sum up...best bike I ever had for that price...needs some time to get and understand their dash board logic but once near to it, and am sure I still did not figure out all possibilities, a great fun bike to have. Do for sure not want to miss it.

The RS660 isn't a step up at all from the CBR650, it's got no virtually no more power and is a grumpy parallel twin instead of a lovely smooth 4. I'd take the Honda any day. The MT09 on the other hand is a really fun bike. There's no comparison with the RS660 really. The 09 has a fantastic, bigger, 3 cylinder engine with a good chunk more power. I enjoyed to test ride this machine. For a Sport bike style, I found it reliable. There was enough poke from the Aprillia engine in order to handle the bike in a more aggressive riding. Takeovers on cars and general traffic it behaves efficiently. No need for more power on the road to go well in a fast and safe manner. The bike is beautiful and full of electronic aids for the rider, very appealing for the bike thief’s, If we buy one of these, you better be paying attention where to park it. The rear breaks are not at the general level of the bike . Didn’t like the feeling and the sound it makes, doesn’t feels like quality material. Hated the mirrors vibration . That’s something quite annoying on a road bike. I’m definitely waiting to test the Yamaha R7. Currently I have a Yamaha XSR900 Abarth. The torque of that Cp3 engine is something that fills my cup! But I’m getting a bit tired of the extreme sporty position of that retro sports kit it wears and instead I found the sport position on this Aprillia 660 RS very comfortable for a sports bike. Thanks for the video! (Didn’t know if you already have ridden the R7. I’m looking to know more about it, if you do, please be so kind to share your impressions here in the channel with us) 🙏🏼

Thanks for the cracking review, I wish I'd found your channel sooner! How would you say it stacks up against the Ducati Panigale V2? Here in Australia they are pretty close in price (AU$20.5k vs AU$23k). V2 obviously has way more torque and power (at least in third gear up, since Ducati likes to nanny you these days), but it seems like a much less practical bike (worse fuel range, no fuel gauge, no cruise control, no cornering lights, plus the heat issue). On paper the V2 has better suspension, but it is a lot firmer so it seems more track orientated. I'm expecting resale to be much better on the V2 as well. I think the RS660 is a better looking bike personally, but most people would likely disagree - most people seem to really love the Panigale looks, but they seem a bit plain to me.
@MyMednas3 жыл бұрын
They aren't in the same league. 100 hp vs 150 hp. I'd have a V2 in a heartbeat.

The V2 is about £5,000 more here in the UK. Panigale is a much more powerful machine too. Thanks for watching! 👍
@Agouti3 жыл бұрын
@@MyMednas The V2 is more powerful but that doesn't matter that much to me. I have a GSX750F and I've rarely used all of its 90ish hp so I doubt I would make use of the extra that the V2 brings very often. Plus given that you can only get the full 150Hp at 9k in third gear means you don't get to use all of it until you are doing 130 mph plus. I'm just not convinced that the power I would use once a month is worth the scorching and other annoyances that I'll get almost daily. Or maybe I just don't know what I'm missing out on?
@Brenno0972 жыл бұрын
@Agouti I'm pretty much in same boat. Live in Sydney, and have been tossing up between both bikes. Love the v2 look but also love the rs660. I personally woukd be doing a lot of riding in the week as well as weekends, and I want to start doing track days (never done one yet) maybe once every 2-3months. So for me comfortability is a big thing. And yes even though v2 has more hp like you said not usable when doing lower rpm stuff, and also gets very hot. With the price even though they are close you also have to take in to consideration the service costs (much higher on ducati) and costs for parts if you ever want to mod it also much higher. Because of this I'm going for the rs660 which they have brought down in price for 21 year run out from $20,530 aus to $18,690 so just under $2k savings

Like that you mention the CBR650R. That seems to be the closest bike to what this bike competes Against but let’s be honest, the sportier, more aggressive RS 660 toes the line to a Supersport much closer. This is what excites me the most. I personally believe the RS 660 is the beginning of a new category of middleweight sportbikes. I think there’s an argument to be made that it really is the first of a new one to be followed by brands like Yamaha with their supposedly incoming R9 for example.

Great review - this or the cbr650r for a mature beginner rider?
@TheNiceytube3 жыл бұрын
I am a mature rider who has finally just passed my test and climbed onto a CBR650R after having a Honda NSR 125 as a 20 year old. I couldn’t afford the Aprillia , but I was struck by the Honda’s looks, specifically the way it looks a lot like a Fireblade. The engine is very smooth and docile, and you really need to wind the revs up to get some urgency, but then it feels like it could just keep going, and the smoothness of the in-line 4 engine is to me, almost a safety feature, as you aren’t going to suddenly unleash a snap of acceleration. It’s a really comfortable bike that manages to look sportier than it actually is. Brakes are not fancy Brembo, but Nissin, but they are totally dependable. Rear tyre is pleasingly chunky and the CBR is just the right size. It is a heavy bike for sure, but again that gives a feeling of solidity.I would recommend the CBR as a first bike. When I’m ready to trade up I don’t think I will have difficulty finding a buyer. I bought a 2019 for £5700 but for £1200 more you can get an almost brand new bike. Having previously had a Honda they appear bullit proof.

After 3 days pottering on a 125 it was a relief to get on the bigger bike, which felt more planted. Apart from the cringey "thats what she said comments", enjoyed the review. I love this bike. I think if you take off the back seat top it has a luggage rack you can stick a box on as well. Something like that anyway.

Hi I just bought a 2022 rs660. I noticed the front brake lever takes around 1-1.5cm before it activates the brake, which is completely different to my previous honda cbr650 which started to brake as soon as you pulled the lever in, did your rs660 do this for you also?
@TheRausing13 жыл бұрын
Amazing bike that I’d love to own, however I feel I’m in the minority when I say I’m just not a fan of Aprilia’s styling/livery choices. For me, the r7 and new ninja 650 have a much more exiting and mean look to them.
