I’m a Ortho-surg RN working 12+ hours. I started out wearing Brooks until my legs started to hurt by 4pm on day 1. I decided to try Hoka One One Bondi. It took a few days to get used the how bouncy they are, but now I find myself wearing them everyday.

Danskos hurt so bad when you first get them. My feet bruised too, but if you can stick it out for about a month, they form to your feet. Then they fit like gloves & are the most comfortable & supportive shoes ever. They are also worth the money because they last forever. Highly recommend! No pain, no gain 😂

That’s so strange how everyone’s experience is different because for me they’re comfortable right away! I love Dansko! Every other brand has failed me unfortunately!

I wear an 8 and have tested out so many shoes.. I owned 3 pairs of Danskos before I could wear them without hurting. I had to go up two sizes - size 40! And now they feel great. There should be enough room for you to be able to fit one pinky finger behind the heel.

I have the cloves and I tie them really tight and then loop them once around that loop on the shoe that goes over the ties (I hope that makes sense) It’s cute and they stay put!

I have to agree I tried cloves and I hated them and I feel like I’m the only one at my hospital that hates them everyone else wears them and loves them haha! Other than that my only successful work shoe are Brooks glycerin. I want to try these balas!

I love my cloves but they creased as soon as I tried them on which was a turn off. It makes the shoes look cheap, but they are comfortable and easy to clean. I also wear danskos and am looking forward to my new Balas coming in 😊

I had to put different insoles in my cloves. They don’t have much arch support and it was a painful 12 hour shift. With the new insoles they were much better.

The Dansko XP2 is the one I wear. I’m a 7, sometimes a 7.5, and I wear the 38. They should fit slightly loose, the back of your heel should easily slide up out of the show when you walk, it’s not supposed to touch your heel. They would be very painful to wear if you got them too small. If I was a size 8, I’d have gotten a 39. Shoes styles are a major struggle for me, I hate the way sneakers look on me. I hate the Crocs all the nurses I work with wear. The Cloves, reviews are not consistent, and I need arch support. I’m thinking about the Birkenstock clog or their Pro Boston

I bought a random pair of Puma’s for about $50 and they are super comfy! After back to back 12 hour shifts in the ED my feet don’t hurt. The shoes are mostly a soft mesh material though. I’m on the hunt for a comfy shoe that is fluid resistant. I’m thinking about the Clove’s or a brand that I just discovered called Gale’s.

Guys I am so so lost, every online program I come across is always a post-license thing to get your bachelors after you already have your RN. The ADN programs to get your RN all want you to have your LPN. All of my searches for online LPN programs come up with next to nothing. Are their any online options out there? I know some clinical classes are required in person, but I do drive truck for a living at night, so online classes are absolutely mandatory except for the in person clinical classes. Any advice would be great!! This Question is for anyone, not just nurse Katherine. My hopes are to do 1-2 years worth of online school, then approach a local college in order to do my in person clinical classes, is that even close to possible?
@savandcatecooks62243 жыл бұрын
I did most of my pre-reqs online through my local community college, then applied to the RN program. No LPN needed, but i was required to take a CNA class through the college before i could start the RN program, and it was VERY competitive. I had a 4.0 at the time so i was offered a spot but i know many that had to wait a few semesters before getting in.
@GB73gabby3 жыл бұрын
If you know what college you’re wanting to get your ADN or BSN from I would recommend looking at their pre-reqs and finding a school that you can do those online. As far as an online nursing program, I don’t think there are any options if you don’t already have a license of some sort (Lpn or RN) I think this is because one you start your nursing classses most schools start the labs and clinical along side those which is in person. Best of luck!
@GB73gabby3 жыл бұрын
Although if you have a chamberlain in your state they seem to be pretty flexible as far as offering day or evening courses and with the pandemic a lot of their clinicals have been online. I don’t go there but I follow some students who do and that’s how it seems.
@DeniseRene4072 жыл бұрын
I haven’t heard of any ADN program that is completely online. I’ve seen different options such as evening classes or weekend classes but nothing fully online. I started school a few months into the pandemic (May 2020) so a lot of our classes did get moved to online for that reason but they still required us to be online with cameras on at the scheduled time for instruction. By my last semester they started requiring us to come to campus more and more. But, just because I’ve never heard of it doesn’t mean it does not exist. I hope you can find a program that fits your needs! I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but since you drive trucks at night, can you go to classes and/or clinicals during the day? I worked overnight shifts at a hospital during nursing school to ensure that my days were free.
@bebeerin2 жыл бұрын
lol that's bc it doesn't exist. all nursing schools require some sort of in-person instruction bc it is a very hands on job. you can do some pre-requisite classes online but once you're actually in the nursing program every nursing school is going to require in-person for obvious reasons. i don't think you would want a doctor to go to med school online so why would you want nursing school to be online for the safety of the medical field and safety of the public
