In Aus, the new X1 gearstick is different to the old. With the old, when you need to change gears to P, R, N, D, you'd have to physically position the gearstick in the positions. The facelift X1 gearstick works like the automatics of the more expensive Bimmers. When u change gears, u just have to tap it up or down etc and P is a button. Also I believe the dials are different as well

LED are standard ion the UK but they are manual. If you want adaptive LED headlights (automatic) you need to spend £900 on Tech Pack 1

The previous model had full led rears. As far as I’m aware only a few of the early F48’s had old incandescents. My 2017 SE certainly has them and I love ‘em. And the Start/Stop imo is fine, nothing wrong with it at all. I love the X1 as a whole. The seating, the gearbox is brilliant (much better than my wife’s GLA), visibility, everything 😃👍♥️

Taz, I have an X1 2.0d X drive 4 months old, Love it ! 40+ mpg in town, Well over 50 mpg on the motorway, Its fast, pulls very strongly and X drive is great in the wet, cant say re Apple as im not tech savvy, all my music is on a stick, DAB is great though! Also the standard audio sounds brilliant so imo no need to upgrade.

I should add that BMW charge for the use of Apple CarPlay. One of, if not the only, manufacturers who charge for it in the UK.

Do you know if the MSport with adaptive dampners and comfort mode is a softer ride than an xLine with standard suspension?

From my own experience: in the new Bmw X1 I have no longer taken run-flat tires. This makes the car much quieter.

As well as a bigger screen the dashboard is full leather with contrast stitching. Extended interior ambient lighting is also standard. I received mine last week and the interior is better than my 2016 X1

It doesn’t come with a CD player in the UK as stated in your written review. I just received my xDrive20i xLine. It’s excellent. The only thing I’m annoyed about is they’ve removed the CD player. Especially annoying as the picture on the BMW UK website and your written review shows it as having a CD player. And I upgraded to the Harmon Kardon system as shown in your video. I like the choice between streamed music and better sounding CD quality.

Just received my new X1 xDrive20i xLine. Its great apart from 28mpg and no CD player. You can’t spec a CD player on the car. I’m old school I still like them!

Taz I I used to have the 25d engine which was 0-62 in 6.6s and returned around 44mpg so I got the best of both worlds. Unfortunately in the UK they’ve stopped doing this engine in the X1. The diesels they do are pretty slow. The xDrive20i is the fastest engine at 7.4s and having had the 6.6s 25d I didn’t want to go any slower than that. In fact this is the slowest BMW I’ve owned in years.

Xyz I have 2.0d x drive, i test drove the 2.0 petrol and found the deisel pulls more strongly than the petrol, also its only 1/3 of a second slower 0 to 60 than the petrol plus much more mpg.

lee taylor yes the 20d is a good engine and I’ve driven it on the facelifted version on a 24hr test drive. May sound crazy but I just didn’t like the drop in speed from the 25d. The petrol is noticeably quicker but it’s also smoother and quieter. Yes the pay off is poor fuel economy. I only do 10,000 miles a year so it’s not that big a deal. I was gutted when they got rid of the 25d engine - I had it in a 2016 plate X1 for 3 years. And I didn’t have to mess around putting that adblue in - my car just missed that. Dealership told me no one was buying the 25d - I bought it!

Bought one, got one, X1 sdrive. The one VERY disappointing thing, taking issue with the guy's endorsement of the infotainment system is the poor messaging. I have android phones and on my previous phone, a Mazda, got txt messages, messenger and WhatsApp, and emails on screen. Not on a BMW, arguably a superior marque??

Already available in the uk. I test drove one about 6 weeks ago and came close to ordering in which case I would have been collecting it next week. Still can't make my mind up on it but apparently their finance deals have got better in the past few weeks, so who knows?

Pretty sure it will be more reliable than the Evoque. Finance Director at my last employer had a new Evoque about 3 years ago and he said it spent almost as much time in the garage being fixed as he did driving it. He sold it soon after he told me that

were you sponsored by BMW? this is outdated both on the outside and the interior. they are also expensive. all they did was change the bumpers, stick a slightly bigger screen and added.......Beige, bloody Beige!!!!!!! wow what a class leader. I have one of these F48 m-sport X1s and it will be changed to a new Mercedes GLA shortly. it has better looks, miles better interior and if you think the I drive is a class leader you must have your blinkers on as the Mercedes is head and shoulders above this. Terrible review, just a plug for BMW and ignoring everything else available.

I'm just reiterating what I'm hearing... Buying non German is what I'm discussing, not buying British! I guess some might go for brands such as Alfa, Volvo, Nissan, Jeep etc. Of course brands like Volvo obviously aren't Scandinavian any more for they aren't German. It's Merkel's fault for openly saying we are 'competitors' now...a very silly, divisive and expensive thing to say.

BMW is now well behind Tesla. I traded my BMW Active Tourer 225xe on a Tesla Model 3 and my new Tesla Model 3 was the same price as new BMW 225xe but Tesla leaves BMW so fare behind now. I have a 15" entertainment screen with free web including KZbin. You are reviewing old technology on this facelift X1 with poor entertainment and you have to keep paying BMW's yearly cost to keep BMW's entertainment.

That may be the case, but, and this might come as a surprise to you, not everyone likes Tesla. And what is the use of KZbin in a car? TV and video are illegal when the car is in motion, and that's what a car is for. I have a house with comfy furniture for sitting on while watching things.

The car is much nicer 👏🏾, I wish they kept the circled headlights though, the headlights on a BMW used to be so unique from any other vehicle , but now they look like every other cars headlights ( regular). Thanks for the review👍🏽
