Thank you Allyn for continuing to update and re-examine these topics each season. As you say repetition is the key to learning it’s nice to revisit subject time after time each time you hone and dial in your information and presentation.

Exactly the information I’ve been looking for. As a complete beginner, I really appreciate you at least letting us know which big box products we can try, to at least get us going. From there, we can try to learn more and maybe try something different next time around if we don’t get the results we want.

Welco It’s all a charade. I don’t use this word lightly-he’s a liar. He’s worse than just being a used car salesman. He’s parading around trying to tip toe around the idea that he’s a doctor. Using a logo that implies he really is while many older folks who are his intended audience may not realize what he’s trying to do... uploading videos on corona virus and also giving investment advice was a step too far for me. He’s like the know it all neighbor but now he’s trying to profit off a pandemic.

I had to Pause and Bookmark, after subscribing. FINALLY~ I've found some real intelligence on pre-emerge. I've struggled for five months to get back a Zoysia lawn that wouldn't have had a problem if I had put down the RIGHT product at the RIGHT time. I'm trying to eliminate Coastal Bermuda (wild) from an Emerald Zoysia lawn with Ornamec, then Fusilade. Fusilade seems to be more effective, but both will severely damage the Zoysia. Now I'm trying to save the patient from the hazards of the chemo-therapy. Thank you LCN.

Valentines Day is the sweet spot for us here in Dallas TX and I love Dimension year round. We always get some 50+ days of soil temps as early as the first week in Feb. I follow up in April for another round and it gets me through until Fall. I eradicated my entire lawn of crabgrass in just a year and now I don't miss a date.

I use Dimension as a pre-emergent in mid-April for crabgrass control for Tall Fescue and Spurge Power for post-emergent broad leaf weed control with pretty decent luck in Zone 7 (No. Virginia). I also use Tenacity once a month during the growing season as a pre-emergent to control wild Bermuda Grass. Another thing I notice is that Crabgrass doesn't grow in the shade, only in full sun. So, I don't apply the pre-emergent everywhere.

Great vid Allyn, have you heard about the new scott starter that has tenacity? My lawn is new TTTF planted from seed last year and our soil is horrible! I started throwing down the bio stim last year and its helping. I'm waiting for my soil test results, but I am going to use this as my spring pre emergent/fert app. My question is should I try to split this or just hit it full, I really think I need all off the npk I can get right now, but curious about the 55/70 dose for the tenacity side of equation. Thanks for all you do!! KZ

Love your stuff ans deffiantly one of rht best ones out there teaching and explaining about these things. If i could make a suggestion of including information for Canadian as well such as mesurments in both imperial (for USA) and metric (for almost everyone else in the world) as well as products that can be found in Canada. I realize this is difficult to get a balance for all but countries which is understandable. It would be greatly appreciated since im trying to improve my skill but get lost in the fact of moat of what you recommend I can not get in Canada or is very difficult to find making it not worth using. Also as a question, I have never used pre emergent and havent had issues with crabgrass or unwanted grass (that i currently know of) as long as i keep my grass strong thick and healthy so is a pre emergency a must?

Since your channel is so popular I did not have the time to read all of the comments so maybe someone mentioned this but Scotts does have a product called WeedEx that is 1.71% Pendimethalin that does not include fert. Edit just finished the video and feel much better. Guess I'm doing Scott's this year till I know what I'm doing. Still feel overwhelmed but not as much. Wish I had a soft grass like zoysia or something :) hard grass is pretty but just not the same lol I have no idea what kind of grass I have. I'm really convinced it's just weeds. I purchased this house and it is from the 70s and the owners clearly hadn't touched the lawn in many many years. There is even a mini forest in the back of trees and vines that I've been slowly getting rid of... Is there a guide with solid pictures somewhere that will give me an idea of what grass and weeds I have? I feel so overwhelmed I have no idea where to start. I don't even have dirt just Florida sand lol

It's 6:12am and I'm sitting here watching in shorts and a singlet. As a new lawn care nut. From all the different grass and weeds in my backyard it's so overwhelming. I'm starting to think, maybe I should just kill it all. Or take it back to dirt. Stupid me thought this new hobby would be kind of easy to figure out stuff in store. How wrong was I.

I live in Vermont and have sandy soil with historically low PH (~5). I've been applying lime for the last few years and either sandy soil or conservation mixes that have 5-10% white clover in the mix. When we moved in it was like a sandpit but now we have a pretty nice lawn. I'm curious if applying prodiamine will knock out that clover and stunt what has otherwise been good growth in our lawn. I'm also battling voles and ant mounds in some sections of the lawn. Any thoughts from anyone on how to take the lawn to the next level (from good to great)?
