This is one of the best car reviews I have seen, hands down. Thank you for actually telling us about the vehicle, how it drives, how it feels on the road, showing the interior, and engine. As opposed to spending 10 to 15 minutes on what the touch screen can do. I buy a vehicle to drive, not to play on the touch screen, while I'm driving. It looks like Ford did a great job on developing this vehicle. It would be a nice little daily driver for me. The only negative I saw, was what you observed, it looks like it has a stiff, bouncy ride. I'm not sure at 60 years of age, if I want that. People complaining about a three cylinder, have to realize, that's the way the industry is going, small engines with lots of power. Think small block V-8's from back in the day, and you have a pretty good comparison. If the powertrains hold up, Ford will definitely have a winner on their hands.

Just had the opportunity to drive the Badland edition, and I really liked it. I immediately dismissed it previously as a rebadged Escape, but I was surprised. Firstly, very good driving experience. The engine has good power, the steering has good feedback and great on-center feel, and it's refined. It felt really solid, and I was not expecting that at all. On the highway, I caught myself going over the speed limit many times due to its refinement. Comfortable interior, and really powerful heating/heated seats. I just really loved how solid it felt going down the road. The AWD system is really good! Turning off the stability control, it was really easy to get rotation in the snow. I had to drive it to the airport during a snow storm, and it felt so stable on the highway!!! The headlights are really good! Really, I wasn't expecting to like it so much since I drove a new Escape and it felt really different. I liked the stiff ride, as it imparted a solid feel to the vehicle. The driving position is great, and it looks great in person. Like a mini LR Defender. The sculpted hood is really cool to look at when driving. Lastly, I loved the size of it. Truly maneuverable and agile. In terms of downsides, the 2.0T seemed to really eat gas. Probably because of the aerodynamics and the good performance. Also, the speakers were truly mediocre. There was a very obvious rattle under heavy bass. Overall, I'd really recommend it. It's priced higher than other subcompact SUVs, but it truly feels more expensive due to its solidity, good performance, and solid driving dynamics. I'm a fan! Edit: The transmission calibration was significantly better than in the Escape. That was one of my biggest qualms I had with the Escape. In the Bronco Sport, it felt pretty well tuned.

I bought this model (it is not the base btw) and liked it since its 1.5 engine was surprisingly torquey when I tested the dealer demo. I am not climbing muddy rocks on 45° angles on hellish off road tracks, so this engine and performance is enough for me. I absolutely hate the new trend of "trying too hard to be modern/futuristic" designs on SUVs, or bloated 7-seat dinosaurs with 4.0 engines, or on the other hand, girly trucks with a lot of electronic and "luxury" finishings I don't care about, idiot piano black everywhere and some new models even needing to use touch screen for climate control. This Bronco has shitty plastic handles, fabric seats, knob controls, looks like a box (a nice one) and I like that. I am not american and I will never get your obsession with more engine displacement = better car. This little engine made me realize how outdated was I in terms of performance on new cars. In 2021 there is no longer a need for big displacements to get a responsive vehicle. If you want performance and 0-60 on 4 seconds you get a proper CAR. A nice sports sedan, a hatchback or something smaller and fun on the curves. This is a utilitary vehicle and complies with such purpose nicely. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask :)

I wish he had pushed it as hard as he had pushed the Crosstrek Sport in his other video. I wanted to get a sense of how it does when you mash on the throttle. The storage situation with the BS is way better than what you get with the Crosstrek, as well as better approach and departure angles. Electronics are on par as well at similar price points. So long as performance outpaces the 2.5L variants of the Crosstrek, this seems like the more useful choice at the expense of a little mpg.

It got power and it got torque. I don't care what's in the engine bay, It could be a squirrel pedaling. For the gear selector, I think two big buttons should be plenty enough: a Drive/Park button, and a Reverse/Park button. When either button stays depressed is alight and it drives, released is off and in Park. And I think indeed, all car reviewers should check first the tire pressure before driving it, just in case someone got the tires too inflated, because indeed the other Bronco reviews say it has a soft ride

So refreshing to see a hydraulic lift tailgate which can open 10x faster than any electric motor lift.

I’ve read all the knocks about the smaller engine but really who needs to go from 0 to 60 miles an hour and three seconds I mean I’m more interested in saving money on gas and I just need something that I like and gets me from point a to point B so I got no problem with the smaller engine I’m looking forward to my big bend

I got to see these being tested in Beckley, WV while I was there for work. They were still camouflaged and the testers were very vague when I would try and ask some questions on them. They were comparing them against a few different Jeep models.

Now you know why Ford styled the Escape that it looks like a raised hatchback - the Bronco Sport is closer to the mk1 Escape in the early 2000s than the new Escape is. Given its affordable price and styling, I suspect this would be quite popular if at the expense of some Escape sales.

They missed an opportunity to call this the Bronco II. I’m thinking this competes with the new Chevy Trailblazer with its 3 cylinder. But it really sounds like a V6.

Base wrangler sport has thicker tires, higher ground clearance, double the power in a v6 and removable body. If you want the off road character, get the wrangler or larger bronco base.

I appreciate Ford attempting to bring some of the fun Bronco character a more affordable model, but I agree with some of your interior critiques. A few of those materials could be at least a little nicer. And I’m not sure I trust that 1.5L 1-3 long term...I wish they would have done perhaps a hybrid model if they really wanted to achieve higher fuel economy. I’d just go for the 2.0L personally. But great video!

I dunno man this thing is 32k starting base in Canada. That's a lot of money for an Ecosport and like no features. The asian brands have this easily beat. It does look nice, though.

Well you're delusional and this exact mindset is why the whole planet thinks Americans are extremely wasteful. For a daily vehicle you simply don't need power. As long as it cruises at highway speeds and is efficient it's good enough. Europe has fleets of vehicles around 100-150 horsepower that are driving long distances daily and working fine up to 250-300k km.

Man I own this little Bronco and I'm glad I'm getting good fuel economy and torquey punch uphills without the need of having a 4.0 dinosaur engine that will drain my pockets on gas stations. A Real bronco would be maybe too much for me, it's designed for real 4x4 hardcore off road pros. This thing is ok for casual dirt roads and long trips with girlfriend and doggos, I'm happy with it.

Perfect practical vehicle for the ordinary every day working people , its not a fashion statement that will look out of date in 3 years time , a timeless design , the downside we in Australia will never see any of Fords new product like the Bronco or Maverick , a sales failure , the Asians have no problem supplying Australia but Americans do .

you mention the somewhat stiff ride, quite often the tires DO have a lot more pressure in them than is recommended on the door stickers.
