Great video! I absolutely loved my ‘22 Mach E. Sadly she was totalled just before Christmas. (No one was hurt, thankfully!) I also had a Premium SR RWD and completely agree that she was an amazing road tripping car. Thanks to the price cuts, I’m picking up a new ‘23 GTPE this weekend for about the same price we paid for our ‘22. My wife asked if I was considering any other EVs and the more I looked around, the more I felt that there still isn’t anything on the market quite like the Mach E. It may not be the best at any one thing,(not the best range, not the most efficient, not the most comfortable, not the best hands free, etc) but it’s at least very capable and generally above average at damn near everything.

I have a question, while I’m charging the battery, is it ok to leave the charger in all night and during the day when your finished charging? I know with the Tesla they said you could just leave it plugged in. I want to know if it’s still the same with the Mach e ???

Yes, it's fine. I highly recommend setting a charge limit around 80% or whatever you will need for your typical day. Once it hits that limit you set it will stop charging.

Just found your channel. We have a 21premium extended range AWD. Love it. Husband’s daily driver. We are now looking for a small EV for me. The 2024 Kona electric is tempting. The new 24 version has a lot of tech the previous version didn’t have and bigger with better styling.

CCS infrastructure is pretty bad right now. However the good news about Ford EVs is that they will be getting access to the Tesla Supercharger network very soon. So charging should not be as much of a hassle as it has been. I highly recommend watching my recent road trip videos in the Mach-E. That will give you an idea of how road tripping is currently. There are also plenty of my videos from when I first bought it until now as well.

You mentioned the need to purchase a wifi plan to see youtube in the vehicle. I connect my phone and use my data plan. Try it

Yes, using your phone as a hotspot does work the same. I hardly have a need to use the data as it is. The point I was making is that Ford has so many subscriptions in the vehicle that when my 3 years is up, I am not looking forward to having to pay for all of them. It just seems like a simple data plan could be rolled into one of them. Good tip and thanks for watching.

I'm torn between the mach e and tesla y. Never driven a tesla. Which would you go with if you HAD to choose one and why?

With current pricing and features my choice would be a Model Y. The Mach-E is a better quality vehicle. It's put together much better than a Tesla. If the pricing was the exact same between the cars I would honestly have an issue choosing. Now that Ford has access to the Supercharger network, you are getting a great vehicle with great charging. I would suggest you take both for a test drive and understand the differences between them. Especially the "lack of buttons" in the Tesla vs the "recognizable" interior of the Mach-E. how was your experience buying it from the dealership? any advise to avoid while negotiating with the dealer?

It was ok. No different than buying from any other dealer in my opinion. I would say my experience was pretty easy considering I knew more about the car then they did. The salesman was a friend of mine. I paid sticker price, which was normal for this dealer at the time. I didn't receive any special treatment. The only advice I have is to never pay more than sticker price. There are so many options and other dealers out there that if they tried that I would just go somewhere else. Nowadays you may even be able to negotiate the price down a little if they have extra inventory.
