2021 Ford Ranger Tremor Review

Good review. Just ordered a 2022 Ranger Lariat Tremor, gotta be patient, it arrives in 4-6 months. FYI, The integrated brake controller is a Ford accessory option (670$ can) and is installed on the left side, under the light controls in the small boxed area under it. It’s expensive but it’s a full integration, only the nob control sticks out.

Talking about the transmission shifts, my 2020 Tacoma only has 6 gears and it constantly shifts down, then back up when I barely accelerate….annoying. Plus the downshift under harder acceleration is way too delayed, making me feel uncertain when trying to make a quick pass.

Yup, I noticed that in the new Tacoma as well. Otherwise the truck is excellent but the lack of low end torque and the way the transmission acts really puts a damper on everyday driving. Oddly enough, when offroad I didn't have any problems with the transmission.

Same issues with my 20 taco. I’ve been looking at these ranger videos. Might be my next truck. Just gotta wait for inventories to get back to pre-covid so I don’t overpay.

And the tacoma lifts the floor to get that extra clearance. Which means more uncomfortable ride and driving on your legs. Sat for 10 seconds in a "taco" and made up my mind to stick with Ford.

Crazy i spent about the same on a used one. Only 12k miles but still... I think my fx4 lariat is essentially the same but with different shocks/tires. The accessory switches don't mean much to me. I just don't care for the rake the fx4 suspension has. I was in the same price range as a tremor though, but availability was non existent at the time. So next year I'm thinking about suspension, tires, tune, fiberglass bed cap, and a bed carpet to really transform it into what I wanted.

The A button no it's not turn on and off the motor yet alright only allows Motor to shut off when you're at a stop light Restart

21-22 MPG, for idling a lot and driving like a fool is good. EPA says 19.

Sometimes I mention the mileage before I do the filming and actual testing, either way 21-22 mpg isn't bad at all!

The tremor has bigger tires and an inch higher in the front. Your gas mileage will not be as good as a normal ranger.

True, I've also tested the FX4 Ranger and many other midsize trucks. None of them get fuel mileage that is much better than a half ton truck. That's where my issue is.

All trucks are quite pricy these days, but they have a ton of tech and features that weren't available in the past.

@Just a guy asking questions It's not a matter of need's, it is want. I want an interior like the 2021 F150, like the RAM's, like a Ridgeline, like the 2022 Frontier. I like tech, leather, heated\powered seats, and a heated steering wheel.

@@rondail5675 the Lariat comes with leather heated seats and if you get the tech package you get Nav, Front&rear sensors, and adaptive crusie control. The only thing missing is cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and SYNC 4. The screen is the same size as most of the new Broncos unless you get a $50k plus trim model. The Ranger is missing a few things but for the price it comes with a lot comparied to a similarly priced truck and more than base full sized trucks. If you want more in the Ranger it would be $50k+ and not many people would buy it over a XLT F150.

Thanks for the support! It's probably the fastest midsize truck and has good torque. The Gladiator with the EcoDiesel is my favorite, but it's extremely expensive!

@@EngineAdventures Dont forget Ford offers a Performance Tune for the Truck that bumps the HP and Torque and comes with a 3 year Factory Warranty if Ford installs it for you

Anyone pays that price is DUMB. Buy a xlt and upgrade from there pretty sure you will be happy. I got led headlights for 600 off ebay, lariat grill, and Installed mirror turn signals. Also about 1200 in leveling and shocks and total price...I got 33K in it. just a suggestion.
