2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide Handle Bar Swap

Just a video of me swapping the bars and riser bushings on a 2021 Road Glide for a friend of mine. Didn't record bushings install cause it would have been way too long. Got busy with something else and didn't get the finally video of everything together without the wrap.
Be mindful of not turning ignition with anything unplugged, you’ll throw a code.
*This is just me doing it, do your due diligence before tackling anything*

Thanks for sharing how to install. Being that the engine is chrome, I would have went with the chrome handlebars instead of the black, but that's just me.

Im aware that you could pop out the center piece but I have the tool for the ignition regardless so I personally don’t see it as a hassle. Thats just my way of going about it, You’re more than welcome to do as you please.

Do the 47 bars have the set hole on the bottom ? Or did you have to grind down the set pin ?

Thanks for the video about to do the same to mine . Glad to know brake and clutch cable can stay the same . Why did you have to remove front wheel though ?

I only took it off to change the riser bushings. Other wise the front wheel hits the wheel clamp on the lift and doesn’t allow me to fully turn left or right.

That depends on how familiar you are with working on them. It can be a PITA if its your first go around, nothing crazy though. Two ways and its easier on Road glides. But you pretty much have to remove the instrument nacelle halves and break loose the 3 pinch bolts on upper tree/ steering head and remove it entirely, which in most cases is easier cause you can swap it all out on a table. Then just install the unit as one and torque the three pinch bolts back to spec. 2nd way You can leave it and break the bottom bolts loose when turned fully left and right, have someone hold it when loosening/tightening. In most cases you wont need that bottom cup washer so you can manipulate it a bit if it gets hung up. Remove bolts and proceed to remove and install the new bushings/bolt kit. Use 243 Medium Blue Loctite on bolts, torque to spec.(Tad bit more tedious and limited on space with out right tools) The first way is gonna make you feel like a experienced technician and its more fun tackling if you genuinely like wrenching.

That's not a 2021 Road Glide. They did away with the center flip up fuel cap in 2021 and put the cap on the right side of the tank. I own a 2021 RGS.

You just said you have a RGS so you have a Road Glide “Special”. This is a base model Road Glide, they stayed the same. I check for registration and info prior to even working on a bike that way Im able to test ride after and not have issues on the road. Paper work Clearly said 2021. You would know the difference if you were a real Harley guy but you’re just a guy with a Harley lmao.

Youre completely wrong because I have a Black 21 glide thats the same as the one in the video and I dont have the cap on the right side. The bar set up should be the same thing though so I dont see why it would even matter dude

The 2021 has full touchscreen not the rubber buttons on the side

This is a road glide standard, they didn't get all the goodies as the special. You can get rdrs and the upgraded radio. I have the same bike with the gts radio and rdrs.
