You have no clue what u are doing, you cant use a roller on rope, cable only,

I realize the newest for rope is a fairlead of fixed aluminum. Either drag the rope across a piece of fixed metal or just pull across a roller? Why not?

While not ideal, sure you can. You just have to make sure the rope stays on the roller and doesn't get caught and pinched on the side. I have been using a roller fairlead with a synthetic rope on my 2014 Grizzly 700 EPS for ~12 years now -- use it for plowing and the roller fairlead extends the life of the synthetic rope by many years. When I was running an aluminum hawse instead of the roller fairlead, I would have to repair or replace the synthetic rope at least 1-2 times per season. That said, if I was not plowing with it, I would run the aluminum hawse.

I bet you're fun at parties. Everyone should be open to feedback, but those delivering shouldn't be a twat about it.
