First of all, we owed a 2002 Elantra that we finally got rid of at 170,000 miles and only got rid of it because we were ready to upgrade. But since that time we’ve owned 2 Santa Fe’s and a Sonata and NO ENGINE PROBLEMS AT ALL!! So not sure what some of you are talking about? Also, the only recalls on the 2021 Elantra have ZERO to do with engines, there have only been 2 and both have to do with the seat and seat belt. So again, not sure what some of you are talking about? Any mechanical issues we have run into? Hyundai has always stood behind their unbelievable, incomparable warranty for us. Not a penny out of our pockets, and no lingering, unaddressed problems afterwards. We always leave the Hyundai dealership satisfied customers! ♥️ Don’t know why Hyundai haters come to hate-watch these videos, it’s pathetic really 😂 We just bought the 2021 Elantra SEL for our teenage daughter and couldn’t be happier! Peace of mind for her father and I, knowing she’s in a safe & reliable vehicle!

I just had the SEL model as a loaner car. I was impressed. The low power numbers don't exactly translate to real world feel. It feels very responsive and peppy while still getting 40 mpg on the highway easily and 30+ in town. The handling is really good especially for a compact economy car. The build quality inside the car was really good, the back seat room was as much as a mid size sedan and even the trunk was big. For around $20k new with a 100k mile warranty this is a really awesome car! I'll definitely consider one as my next car in a few years when they are $12k with 50k miles.

Just bought a 2023 Elantra Hybrid, and absolutely loving it. Electric motor gives peppy starts off the line, 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, dual clutch 6 speed auto tranny gives positive, precise shifts, independent rear suspension gives incredible handling. And, oh yeah... over 50 miles per gallon in the city. And the electronics is staggering. This is close to the worlds perfect car.

I drive a 2018 Elantra and I'm having a really hard time liking this exterior design. So many awkward angles and shapes. It's as if Hyundai is repeating Honda's thinking with what they did to the Civic several years ago. It's trying too hard to compete for attention and just looks like it's having a stylized seizure. The interior, on the other hand, is full of graceful lines and shapes and looks upscale for the class. The 2021 is going to have to grow on me.

You guys should talk about some of the features that are available in the cars in the US that are not available in Canada like the digital key, dynamic voice recognition, remote start heated seats, or the ability to control the car through bluelink with google home. Feel like its important to mention since during the lead up they touted those features alot but removed them here and you guys are a Canadian channel. Also the car is 25K without those 10.25 screens. To get the both of the 10.25 screens, the interior ambient lighting, LED headlights, power driver seats, and highway driving assist its an additional 2700 making this closer to 28K. No rear AC vents in a 28K car. Also only apple carplay is widescreen in the car right now, android auto is locked to 8 inches with an ugly black box taking up the rest of the screen you cant do anything with. You guys also didn't mention the Bose sound system which is also nice.

Yep. A new or refreshed Elantra every 1-2yrs. It's crazy. Bought my new Elantra just 2yrs ago and they're already moved on to 2 other designs. They can update it every 6mos for all I care. I bought what I like and I'm sticking with it, unless it turns out to be junk, in which case I'll move on to a different brand.

@@jaxandmore440 2017 started the last gen and they refreshed it with ugly headlights and taillights for 2019 model year, but not a whole lot of other changes. I got the 2018 sport and it looks great. Would not have bought the refresh.

@hiroshima thompson in my experience, the outdated designs tend to be the most dependable vehicles. The manufacturers keep the models around long enough to work out the bugs.

I think they drew some inspiration from the Garmin G1000. I wish aircraft interiors were as nice as the elantra interior though.

Well, just like the Golf R review of old, from you guys. Driving the same car but with 2 different transmissions. I want to see you guys drive 2 Elantra N cars, 1 with a Manual and 1 with the DCT. Comparison and review. I get the feeling you guys will have a Great time. The new reviews of the Elantra N pre-production from Alex On Autos and Redline Reviews.....Positive reviews so far. Just can't wait for the TheStraightPipes review on it!

This car is very promising. The only thing I’m concerned about is the long term reliability. Other than that, Hyundai is seriously putting the pressure on Toyota & Honda.

Ah, if you don't look at it from outside, you can even prevent blood coming out of your eyes. And the interior is better than in many 100K cars: great ergonomics and material quality.
