I'm in Australia and waiting for my i30 premium (our name for this car). I'm really surprised how many features the american car misses vs ours. On the other hand we don't get blue link apparently.... one thing we both seem to miss is the heated front windscreen the Canadians can get, we don't get a lot of cold weather here but we do ice up here for a few weeks a year.

We have a 2020 Elantra SEL and although not the latest model it is a wonderful car …..smooth, quiet, loaded with safety features…..everything you touch has a quality feel to it. We got a fantastic buy on it (NEW) for $16,444 plus $799 dealer fee plus sales tax (6%) plus registration and tag …..about $18,650 …OUT THE DOOR. ….. it looks nice, it drives nice, it’s got plenty of power (2.0 Atkinson cycle engine with IVT transmission) …very fuel efficient (30 city 40 highway) …..a joy to drive and we have a 2018 Camry LE to compare it to. (Nice car …noisy engine) but only during acceleration ….quiet at highway speeds…(Camry)

I'm glad to see the Koreans aren't giving up on sedans (Looking at you Ford and GM). There are still a lot of shoppers who don't want or need a SUV. The 2.0L engine with iVT that was in your review sample is the same engine as found in the lower trims of the Kia Soul. I drove a rental Soul with that power train and found the iVT to be one of the best CVT transmissions I have ever driven.

Just bought a 2023 Elantra Hybrid, and I just love it. The electric motor gives me crisp launches off the line, the dual clutch 6 speed computer shifted manual tranny gives the efficiency of a manual tranny with the ease of an auto, and the fully independent rear suspension - found on the N series and the Hybrid - gives phenomenal handling. The fuel economy is spectacular; I regularly do better than the EPA specs, running in the low 50 mpg range with mostly city driving. The Bose sound system is better than my $2,000 home theatre system, and the sound deadening means the vehicle is quiet at highway speeds. The electronics are amazing... this may actually be the very best vehicle on the planet.

I have the SEL Plus and let me tell you for 22k it’s so worth it! I upgraded from a 2019 Hyundai Accent so this was a big upgrade. It’s so roomy. I pulled up to the drive up at target and the attendant had to ask me what year and trim my car was because it looked so “luxury”, lol ha. The smart features come in handy. And I love the complimentary 3 yr blue link subscription, I live the fact that I can control the car from my phone. The lane keep and steering assist paired with the smart cruise control is technically this car driving itself, I like to use it in long trips. Y’all don’t let anyone deter you from Hyundai’s- this car looks and feels better than a Toyota they look so outdated to me and Honda’s have been having the same “new body” for years.

i would be very leary of that ivt transmission. i would not trust any new transmission until its been proven for several years. i purchased a tucson with a dual clutch tranny and it is garbage. i would also stay away from a turbo engine as they have problems and go through oil like crazy. i loose about a quart every 1000 miles. i only have 60k miles on my car. i know you will think it will be under warranty but hyundai will do anything they can not to honor warranty. i have taken my car in several times and they say nothing is wrong or its normal to go thru that much oil. we also have a 2014 elantra and that car has been mostly dependable, just a couple minor problems. just stay away from turbos and specialty transmissions.

i agree 100%, stay away from turbos, dual clutch and cvt trannys. also hyundai will do anything they can to deny your warranty.

How is the reliability so far? Any issues encountered? I mean for your Elantra

@@rexonpadre864 my 2014 elantra, at 165k miles, the engine has locked up. a crank shaft rod bearing disintegrated and sent metal shavings thru out the engine. worst part is, they are in such high demand because of the high failure rate, a used 1.8 with high miles go for over $1k. I would stay away from any hyundai. if you must buy one keep meticulous records of all your maintenance. I have heard that hyundai will deny engine failures if you go over oil change miles by just a few hundred miles.

Ils me renvoient toujours à mon concessionnaire… J’ai parlé à tous les « spécialistes » de Hyundai Gabriel Anjou personne n’a les connaissances pour m’aider, je commence à être vraiment découragé !

The thing that makes me not want or like this car is that passenger side bar thing. It’s obstructive and hideous and really low class looking inside a car that looks so nice from the outside.

Between civic, Corolla and this, which one do you recommend?
@jerbsherb43913 жыл бұрын
This is extremely underpowered compared to corolla and civic. I would say go for the corolla since it doesn't have a turbo and because it has a good power to weight ratio. If you don't care about power as much then this will be a better buy since it has a lot of future proof tech.

Get the N line model. Lot more power and costs less than the Limited trim.

@@jerbsherb4391 agreed man. I went from a civic to this exact Elentra and the difference in pick up and horsepower is very obvious. Elentra is still a better vehicle overall

I love the car and even bought one myself, but regarding it's short-comings: net hooks in the trunk, no inside grab handle for the trunk (to keep you from touching the dirty exterior), no ventilated seats in the North American market, no LED brake lights and turn signals (again, N.A. market), and no blind spot view monitor, to mention a few. I'm very disappointed that Hyundai has the technology, has the means, and does actually make cars with these features, but yet skimps on them in certain markets, just like the NFC key --not available in certain markets, but available in others. I would gladly pay another $1000 for these features, especially on a $30K car. WHY, WHY, WHY, Hyundai do you cheap out sometimes. And what's worse, some features were available on OLDER models that are not available in the new redesigns. I just don't understand the marketing and planning of these companies. Maybe someone can break it down and tell me why something they are already doing is omitted and thus creates a different setup--costing more money, no doubt, just to do what? Save money somewhere else? We know when you're cheaping out on us with hard plastics and missing features. PLEASE STOP, Hyundai--and other car manufacturers. We have the Internet Super Highway now. We'll know when you're skimping on the features.
