Just beautiful! I'm building my first chuck glider rc 19" wingspan. But I'm going conventional control surfaces. Pitcheron sure looks interesting!!!

Both conventional and pitcheron controls work well. However in my opinion the pitcheron is easier as the cutting is on the main wing only . These type of gliders bounce rather than break, Have fun 👍

Your 2021 Lidl glider went well Stephen 👍 but what a place to choose to fly when it came to a landing - that was brave 😬 There's a chance I 'might' be able to finally do some light breeze slope soaring tomorrow, but by tomorrow the wind direction will be completely different to the forecast so it probably won't happen 😠

I know what you mean we are completely at the mercy of the weather . I have been waiting for months to test this one out . Was hoping I could get this close enough to catch or somewhere nearby, but the wind was getting stronger and stronger so I had to get it back quick, did not expect to end up having to do a steep dive down a cliff face to get it back though. But pulled it off unharmed. 😊

Even with the tiniest ruff landing on the nose, the wings tend to bend forward stressing the spar. I've already broke 2 carbon tube spars that way. Now I'm using an aluminium tube which bends, but it is relatively easy to bend it back in shape. (wings are removable) Still looking for a good durable alternative. Probably a 6mm carbon rod would do, but cannot find it locally.

I don't think I have ever broken a sparr on any of my Lidl gliders. And I have had some very bad arrivals I have Broken the rear of the fuselage on the Mk1 Lidl gliders that is their weak spot. 6mm Carbon Sparr tube is good with at least 1mm thick wall. 👍🏻 Maybe you could try fibreglass rod as it is more flexible. Buy a cheap Kite and use the glass rods.👍🏻

Maybe a carbon fibre arrow shaft? These are about 6mm, cheap and pretty indestructible.
