it's $112k base price in the US, and also you're 10000000% leasing it so no need to worry about long term reliability lol. interior on these is super nice, the FCA switchgear is here and there but the quality of the leather and overall interior vibe are that of a expensive car.
@selkhadian3 жыл бұрын
@@myemailiscool Sorry but I strongly disagree except for the leasing portion. Ghibli's interior is a shit when you are comparing it to other comparable low 6 figure price point models - it is clear that Maserati has not put much thought into the interior design. When the first model came out, you weren't event be able to put a CD in straight. Although newer, similarly priced Levante is far better designed, using similar quality materials for interior. Also FCA parts bin items are not only known for bad reliability, but feeling not tidy and very cheap when operating the buttons and knobs.

@@KevinSmith-qi5yn - That's all in your mind. Maserati's haven't been priced at the level of Astons or Bentley's for a very long time. A Granturismo was priced at the same level as a V8 Vantage, but the V12 Vantage, DB9, DBS, Rapide etc were all a lot more expensive. Just the same for the Continental. @Smychavo3 жыл бұрын
@@philipciantar4824 That's a rather disingenuous statement for the modern automotive industry. Staying within VW group as an example, a Panamera will not drive the same as a Continental GT despite being on the same platform, and even going as far as having similar powertrain options (VW/Audi's TTV8 may as well be the equivalent of Toyota's V6 in how frequently it appears across its product lineup) Suspension and basic chassis architecture are not the be-all end all of how a vehicle ultimately feels. There is still refinement left off the table, be it NVH, ride quality, handling, and design that will warrant actual buyers into looking at the upper brands. Development is already as expensive enough as is, and competent platform sharing allows these automakers to create distinctly different experiences without expending mountains of capital they will need to plan future products, and services while making enough margin to pay their workforce. I think when it comes to cool points, normal people or fringe-gearheads see a Maserati assume it's expensive and rare, less so for the rare part when it comes to fringe-gearheads. To die hard gearheads with "normal cars" they know how cool the older ones were, like the old Quattroporte and GranTurismo, and know how much they've depreciated and the only thing stopping them from buying one or wanting one is common sense, but the new ones are way too overpriced. Then you get to those who have a generally accepted cool or good gearhead car, like a GTI/GLI, or also drive a luxury car, not necessarily the AMG or RS crowd, could be like an mSport that's actually a bargain performance car, or a newish normal trim luxury car - they see that the old Maseratis were seriously cool and these new ones are mostly only purchased by those who need to pay an 'idiot tax" for buying a mark for the mark itself, the anti-BMW driver. We know the new 4-series is terrible to look at but great to drive, the Maserati's are conditionally good design wise but not worth even a third of their weight in salt. It's a conspicuous purchase, you want others to think you have more money than you do have, regardless of what amount of money you actually have - well until the MC20 comes along, then it'll be back to normal.

The M139 Quattroporte (especially the amazing DuoSelect) and M145 GranTurismo were great because they were made in the Ferrari era of Maserati. The quality is indeed poorer with the M156 Quattroporte and M157 Ghibli, and the Chrysler part of FCA is to blame. When you look at their interiors, whatever was done by the Italians (seats, dash) is covered in nice leather…if it’s not a “cheap” base model (something that was not existent in Ferrari era) and whatever was done by Chrysler (buttons and switches) look cheap. Also, the M156 Quattroporte even lacks the front-mid engine from the previous generation. That’s why it’s body’s proportions are a bit off from the previous one, with it’s elegant long hood. Probably the Chrysler part of FCA saying “no, we won’t give you a higher budget for a front-mid engine”

Please correct me if I am wrong I don't think Maserati ever made a sporty car. It's more like for people who want a Ferrari v8 in their sedan. Maserati does not cater to enthusiasts, never did. Maserati fans also do not watch KZbin, I think....

The red accent on those vents looks like an Automation car fixture that bugged out in an update, switching to that default red paint.

Didn't studio Ghibli make animation 'Totoro' and 'Spirited Away' in the 90s? Explains some of the design ques of the vehicle.
