I'm a sucker for wings, but damn this car is right amount of everything a driver could want. A machine that requires communication between the driver and rewards control and a hell of a beauty. This only thing I have to nitpick on this is that the HVAC controls being built into the center screen and lacking a third pedal. Regardless, I'd get one if I had the capital. It's also neat trivia is that this 600 HP car barely escapes the the USA's Gas Guzzler Tax by 0.5 combined MPG with no hybrid tech.

Beautiful drone footage - and a beautiful episode altogether. Much have been said about old Top Gear episodes and this show - but I think these two guys might at the moment be some of the best car presenters in terms how passianate they are about what they're writing and talking about - and in terms how seriously they take the mission to "bring" and "open" their experience to the world, especially in a combination with a car like this. And interludes where one of the guys simply talk about what they see (a bird) - when it's well filmed and well produced (not in the cheaper EXTRA channel manner) - are a welcome innovation. Greetings from Latvia, keep up the work!

@kenny master why do you people always have to bring Teslas up man.. wtf does a heavy EV sedan have to do with an Italian supercar? go buy your Plaid and shut the fuck up about it
@ForzaMonkey2 жыл бұрын
@kenny master the process they use to get the batteries for the S Plaid requires mining companies to dig out whole mountains to get enough Lithium and other rare-earth metals for 10 cars. Plus, the machines used to mine run on diesel or gasoline, and are usually SUPER inefficient due to poor mechanical advantage or high friction between large, moving parts. Making the cars is certainly not economical. Mining for cheaper metals, like iron or aluminum, is a lot more reliable, because it does not require the complex machinery needed to extract rare-earth metals from ore, so it will use less fuel. To repair a Model S, you will spend about $4,500 for the first 10 years of service on average, and that is if something does not go wrong, which, knowing Tesla, is bound to happen, especially with suspension parts. Tesla makes up for poor build quality by throwing in a giant iPad for a center console and having autonomous driving, which can also both have their own faults. The Tesla Model S is able to go between 200k and 400k miles on the original battery, but that is if you drive it only 10,000 miles a year, and considering that most of the people buying the cars probably have a family to tend to, most people likely drive a lot more than that 10,000 a year. In comparison, with a Toyota Camry you can expect an average repair cost of $3,000 for 10 years, with the maximum cost being the Tesla's average. A Toyota Camry can get you from 200k to 400k miles in its life for half the repair cost of the Tesla, and you don't need to be conservative with your driving habits to get it that far.

A little context: Exterior and interior are done by separate teams within Maserati style center. The lead designer of the exterior, Andrea Bruno, is an awesome guy who does an incredible job with his understanding of what is good car design. I remember the first time seeing him sketch and I was blown away. But it's just to say that there is a reason why the interior and exterior could have a different feel to them, as different lead designers work on each respective part of the car.

I must applaud you both for your honesty. I’ve been following the release of the car since it’s announcement years ago. While not completely bespoke, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s lack of cohesiveness has given me great pause. Thus far, you are the only reviewers that have openly highlighted these flaws. I don’t mind that the engine is derived from a Alfa QV with Mahle pre-combustion added and turbos moved from within the hot V. Doing this allows for cooler engine temps and thus allowing for higher turbo boost pressure. The exterior design is nothing of magical. Refined and subdued much in line with the Maserati language. Remember the Maserati has always been the less flashy Ferrari. A gentleman’s Ferrari if you will. The interior is simple and uncluttered. Much like others have commented, the price bonkers and I think will give great pause to potential buyers who have a lot of options at that price point. If this were $150k USD, it would be much more desirable. Knowing that this platform will also contain a non ICE power train and the R&D it took to accomplish this, I think Maserati overshot in terms of pricing. I do hope that they address the issues with the open top version. Keep up the great work guys. 👊🏻

Yeeeeeeeah….I’m team refinement. Awesomely stunning car, as so many Maseratis, but I need the predictability. 😜 GREAT video men, the opener was f’n hilarious!

It's gorgeous. But honestly, if I were into ultra dangerous supercar, for that price, I would buy a Countach or a Testarossa and die in piece with the sound of a V12.
@BlahBleeBlahBlah2 жыл бұрын
Yep! And with a gated manual shifter to boot! Also, let’s be honest - the “old-school supercar” vibe absolutely does not work with paddle shifters. A heavy manual shift, ok. But clunky, sloppy, jerky shifts when pulling a paddle? No thank you…
@arivette20102 жыл бұрын
Good luck trying to find a Countach for that price. A TR on the other hand is not as expensive.

That back view and rear 3/4 is epic. BTW, I thought diesels have been using precombustion chamber for a long time. Love how flaws are character for supercar but just flaws for regular cars. So true.
@Schaltschrei Жыл бұрын
they do until today . As he said, for a better Flamefront in the Combustion- Chamber. That Technology disappeard in Cars, cause the engines were to big, heavy und there was low Power Output. The Prechamber gets very hot too, because in direkt injection, everything gets cooled by the "cool stroke" -air intake. But the low injection pressure ended in legendary long lasting engines like the Mercedes Benz E300D´s from abtout 600.000 kilometers.

Great job on this guys. Always love the honesty found in your reviews. Looks fantastic. The engine does sound terrible though. Wish the sound would match the looks. Crazy performance though like all modern vehicles. I would still try to get a Huracan EVO RWD for the glorious V10 compared to this V6TT which all upcoming supercar will have.

Love the content guys keep it up, just a quick comment “pre injection” or none direct injection is not something f1 came up with its old Diesel engine tech, and for most of its history it’s been followed by sub par reliability, hopefully Maserati is the first to get a way with it!
