I played it for all of 2 hours and am already bored with it. It's just people using nearly the exact same Pokemon, because only being allowed to use 4 Pokemon limits strategy so heavily to the point people just have to use the same thing.

@Music Lover Hyht in most situations it’s better. So when a gigamax the appearance of the Pokémon changes and they get a unique move. Dynamax is when you use on a random Pokémon with no special transformation or a unique move. The reason it better in most occasion is because you can dynamax a legendary and it could perform better with its stats. Stuff like that. In most case only like 5 or less gigamax are viable

I am not by any means shaming the competitors on this, but why the crap are people not allowed to use more than 4 Pokemon? That severely limits intricate strategies people can come up with. I've seen people with teams like this online. It's nothing unique, which is a let down for a big tournament like this. Like I said I am not shaming the competitors, just the people who orchestrate these tournaments. It feels like they are compromising one of the basic game mechanics of Pokemon being teams of 6 and for what reason? It doesn't make the battles more balanced it just makes them more boring.

It's to add another layer of mind games to it. Also 6 pokemon double battles would just be very long on their own and i think most of the audience prefers shorter more volatile games

There's more strategy in choosing which four pokemon to bring in a battle. If six pokemon VGC battles become a thing, matches will be boring and stall-y.

@@suomy3047 I mean yeah there is strategy with having to only choose 4, but imo there is more strategy to actually making your entire team synergize with one another. Having your entire team synergize to the point where they can cover each other in an all out match. I personally don't see how they would become more boring, but I guess with them being longer for audiences that would be kind of tedious. I didn't really think about that aspect. I guess I am just more irritated about the fact that there is no option to do 6 Pokemon battles on ranked, whenever I really feel there should be. After playing ranked for a couple of hours all I was running into were nearly identical teams. Only being allowed to use 4 Pokemon does limit strategy. Otherwise people would not be rehashing nearly identical teams. If you go into y-comm you get a lot more variety, as people are allowed to more freely build their team the way they want. And stall albeit annoying is still a part of Pokemon. I mean completely removing an entire team type is not really a good thing. It just makes the ranked much more repetitive. You can build a lot more complex strategies with 6 Pokemon than 4. And I know I can just do y-comm, but I don't get any prizes from doing y-comm. I enjoy doing it for fun, but I would prefer to get rewarded for my efforts, so I feel like I am actually accomplishing something other than bragging rights.
