2021 Renault Megane RS Trophy Review

Having never driven a Megane before we found this Renault F1 influenced hot hatch a thrill. Quick on the straights but even quicker in the corners. Seriously great fun.
(had a couple of mic issues early in the review)

Thanks for the review, nice to see some NZ content on this model, think its the first I have seen! Have owned several Megane RS's over the years and love them. Can say they are a drivers focused car and perfect for someone who takes the long way to get to where they are going!

Thanks for the feedback Graham, it's a very hot hatch and such a pleasure to drive. We were offered the manual AND the auto, so both are in NZ. I wanted to drive both but only got the auto (which I assume will be the bigger seller anyway). Really impressed. Thanks again.

Just picked up the new Megane way down south in NZ. First hot hatch I have owned ……. Wow !!! The grin factor is huge ! Ticks all the boxes at this stage. And I have absolutely no problem with the interior fit and finish.

i rented one recently and was so suprised how good they are in cornering.n we did a mountain race with 4 other cars and no one could keep up in the cornering

recaros are not an option for nz. only sunroof and paint

Reply from their local PR - he is correct, the Recaros aren't heated. This is the case globally. The standard Megane does have heated seats however.

Great car in every way if all you require is pops bangs and shear grip, assuming you can live with the interior

looking atr getting one and the interior doesnt look half that bad, espically if you compare it to the other RS models! i prefer it to the focus ST interior, but thats my opinion :)

@@danielbrooks7522 yes, especially in alcantara with the red stitching the interior looks great, and very fitting for the car. Don’t know what you’d want more or else, for big squishy leather just look elsewhere.

It's front wheel drive but had 4 wheel steering so the back wheels turn opposite at lower speeds and tur with the front wheels at higher speeds round wider bends
