It looks like a really practical e-bike. For many people I think that would be the only bike they'd need.

Introduction sans "excited" today. You passed the exam! ;) Lovely to see this. The grey and 'curry' is a classic industrial colour combination. Not sure that's the effect they're going for but I like it. A helpful overview as usual and editing.

In times like this your videos are an information goldmine! Would you be able to provide the dimensions of the safety bar? I would like to be able to throw in a foldable plastic crate every now and then, but the R&M website does not provide any dimensions for the accessories.

Love this review/video. Amazing content. Do you think this would fit short riders at the 47cm frame height? Say, 5' 3" or 5' 4"?

Great overview; looking forward to seeing the new itereration when it launches. Are you able to recommend a hitch mounted bike carrier for 2 Multicharger Mixte bikes?

Any chance you can do a short video on how to remove/replace the battery? My key is stuck and I can't seem to open the "hatch" all the way to open and remove it. I know it is tricky because the dealer had trouble as well... I live too far away to comfortably go there for help. Otherwise, I love, love, love this bike!

i want to ask a question iv been looking for a bike that is similer to this one but isent Electric (to fast for me) has the back cargo storage and is somewhat light. and cheap maybe 100-200 but so far iv found nothing all of them are 500$-1k-2k etc some even 4k! so do you have any bikes that may fit what im looking for?
@Propelbikes4 жыл бұрын
We don’t have much experience with this sort of thing. I think your best bet might be to look for a used bike as most non-electric cargo bikes start around $1000

Please do more LONG TERM reviews with maintenance & service costs. I own a Multicharger HS Touring model 2020, chain & derailleur. It's put on the market as a longtail cargo Ebike with "multitude" usage. Well..think twice before purchase and read loading capacity. If you want to use the full capacity (max. 65kg) of this bike, keep in mind the wear & tear on the driving system. In my case, 10K km, regular maintenance at dealer, regular cleaning and lubing chain & derailleur, no rough terrains, no adventure, only usage in urban settings. I had 3 total replacements of cassettes, chain because of wear & tear: 3x 300€ including labour = 900€ At last maintenance routine dealer mentioned my Bosch motor was at the last of its lifespan, ball bearings were gone inside. So, that's a new motor at 10K km!? Costs: 1000€ including labour. I knew with purchase that a chain driven Multicharger requires more maintenance and replacement, but EVERY 3000km!? This bike only lives up to his specifications if you don't exceed the total capacity of the bike: 175kg. That means 40-65kg groceries, kids, pets on the back, the driver can NOT weigh more then 80kg. Unfortunately I am 100kg and the bike is not loaded or used every day. Heck, it only has 10K km! Note: warranty of 2 years has expired, no replacements by dealer nor Bosch, nor Riese-Müller. You would expect more quality from a premium bike. Note: no complaints about other components, they are all top notch.

I wonder if they'll ever introduce a full long-tail version. Maybe a 'Maxicharger'?

Hi, great review, and I’m thinking of buying this bike now. My wife and I would like to ride together on this bike, maybe once or twice a month for maybe 20 miles. (We’ll ride it more often without a passenger.) However, our combined weight is about 360lbs. Together with the 55 lb weight of the bike, and perhaps another 15 lbs of accessories, we’re about 45 lbs over the max payload of 385 lbs. If we ride together on this bike, what’s at risk - burning out the motor, bottoming out, breaking the frame? Similar problem for the Benno Boost, and although the Tern GSD would work, I prefer larger wheels. Eager to hear your thoughts as well as opinions from your viewers.

Hi, thanks for your great report. Please can you confirm that it is possible to install two child seats on the rear rack? is it possible to install chairs from global brands such as Hamax or Thule? thanks
@Propelbikes4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! The Multicharger will fit two seats with side clamps like the Thule Nexxt and the Hamax seats.
@d3mi3033 жыл бұрын
@@Propelbikes Also loved the content. Do these side clamps come with the Thule Nexxt and Hamax seats or have to be bought separately? And they do not need any adapter (like EasyFit) to fit the rack? Thank you.

Shame that the optional second battery has to sit on the down tube and not fill the space behind the seat tube.

I'm so stuck on what to get. Want a cargo bike, but also something that doesn't look so much like a cargo bike. Debating if it's worth going with tern gsd for two kids (but riding without 2 kids its stands out). Or go with benno boost or this one. Multicharger looks amazing, but you also pay more for it. What to do....what to do

I see there is a centre stand in some of the pictures...it this an option from R&M.
@markus_landgren4 жыл бұрын
The two-legged stand is included in two of the optional packages, the passenger kit or the safety bar kit. On the R&M website there is no option to get this stand by itself without the packages, but I assume your local dealer can get it for you similar to what Chris mentioned about getting the racks in a different color.
@timothyma83584 жыл бұрын
@@markus_landgren I have no use for the optional packages such as the passenger kit and safety bar because I would like to place a container for my small dog (22 lbs). So it would be nice to have the centre stand to help with loading a pet.

Just order a Mulitcharger Mixte Vario but was told this frame with the easier step through frame was slated for later production. So the dealer says I probably have a 4 to 5 month wait for it. So Chris what is the information that you know about this?

That is the same as everyone to my understanding. It’s a new frame and I don’t believe it will be ready until January at the earliest. This happens sometimes.
