I test rode one of these last year & can swear to it … it’s like the Mercedes Benz G Class of touring, long distance bikes. Expensive … but So, so , so worth every penney. You’ll never own a better bike than an R&M Superdelite.Also worth noting. It’s a BELT drive . NOT a chain… which means you can get up to 10,00 KMS on this one belt & NEVER worry about all the hassles associated with a tiresome chain. Yes they are tested & proven. One other hidden gem about this bike which no one mentions. The inner tube on these specially made tyres are that they are ‘self sealing’ when you get a puncture, so it you hit a nail & get a flat , the tyre will remain inflated until you can get somewhere & address it properly with a puncture kit. No more being stranded with a flat tyre. This company has really gone above & beyond when they made this bike. 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻🌞

What is the range on this compared to the Delite, do you know? And what is the range of the Delite?
@badabing88848 ай бұрын
@@PoshByDefaultwith a dual battery you’re looking at roughly up to 113 miles (1125/10) in economy mode. But that is going from 100% to 0% which is not advisable on e-bikes.

Just ordered exactly the same. Arrives end of July 🥳 Researched a lot and this bike is the only one which fits me. Commuting& shopping in big city traffic, ultra steep terrain, Alp crossings and long tours on forestry roads in free time. It’s A LOT of money, but as I don’t have a car or kids, I can make it work and if someone asks me about the price: „20 cents per kilometre“ P.S.: I wish someone would do a video about the R&M front rack bag. Pictures about the inside is nowhere to be found.

I would probably agree if you are serious about the miles. If you are happy to swap the extreme distance for a bit of comfort, then the Superdelite's rear suspension is what you need.

I have the superdelite. The nice thing about it is that you can lock out the suspension if you want to do the road miles, but of you see a hill or a side track on komoot that looks interesting you have the capability. Even loaded with panniers. I love it. Really love it.

Hi Dan, Thanks for all ur nice n useful videos. Wondering if you could say a few words about choosing a regular CX 4gen. Bosch vs. the HighSpeed version. Getting the HS version means traffic insurance for at least 500 punds yearly, which takes some of the fun and savings of biking away. Thank You

Nice review but I would not mention anything about mountain biking as it is too low for that and in my experience with it at the mountain bike tracks you scrape the rocks and ground when you take those downhill turns. Its good for a mild off road but that's about it. It also comes with the 140 Fox suspension upgrade in the GX. The best upgrade was the Jones H bar, totally changed my experience and added even more comfort.

Top speed .. 45 KM - yes it goes that fast. Sell your car. You’ll never be so happy you did. (That applies in Europe) US only has the version that goes 25 KM & most cites on the East coast - New York BAN electric bikes. Unbelievable in Global Warming era - but that’s America for you.
@james-p2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... not sure where you got that info. I think more 25kmh bikes are sold in Europe, because some countries there require you to have a license, insurance, and vehicle registration for the 45kmh bikes. In the US, the 45kmh bikes are still considered bicycles and we don't have to have any special licensing or anything else for them. So we Yanks tend to opt for the faster ones. I still insure mine, though. Also, they are not banned in New York as of July, 2020, although they do have a weird top speed limit in NY of 40kmh instead of 45... New York is managed by idiots, but so are a lot of states here ;-)

The components you get for 10.000 euro are absolutely crap, on 5.000 euro e bikes you get top of the line suspension and brakes while here you get the absolute low end suspension and brakes.
@EDEMOElectricBikes3 жыл бұрын
I would disagree with you here :) Riese & Müller use the incredible Magura MT4 and MT5 hydraulic disc brakes with built the built in brake light function. The suspension Suntour Aion air suspension comes with either 100mm or 140mm travel depending on the specification chosen. The top of the range bike refered to also includes two batteries totalling 1125Wh, Bosch Gen4 Performance CX motor, a Rohloff E-14 hub, Gates carbon belt drive, Supanova M99 mini main beam and dipped light, Bosch Nyon display with built-in sat-nav, and Fox Float DPS Performance suspension front and rear, Ergon grips and Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres. Oh, and there's an X-fusion Manic dropper seatpost chucked in for good measure.... I don't think you will find any 5k bike with this spec ;)
@oprik98763 жыл бұрын
@@EDEMOElectricBikes some top magura breaks would be the mt8.. not 4. A top fork would be ohlins or at least a fox 36. And the cx4 motor is used on every 5k bike. The fork is the lowest in the industry.... the only thing that is undeniably great about the bike is the transmision, the hub and the big battery.
@james-p2 жыл бұрын
@@oprik9876 WTF are you talking about? The MT8 is a 2-piston brake not designed for heavy ebikes. All it is is more expensive, and it would be wrong on this bike. The MT5 is a 4-piston brake that is designed for exactly this application, with a 2-piston MT4 on the rear where less braking power is needed, but a brake light switch still _is_ needed. The MT8 doesn't have one. You can get a Fox 34 fork on this bike - the 36 is for competition, not street/trail bikes, another waste in this application. Both Riese and Müller are engineers - they think about these things. The batteries (UL listed, by the way, which costs a lot to attain) and the hub alone cost more than two-thirds of "every 5k bike." There is no other bike that I'm aware of, let alone one for 5k, that has a sprung rear rack. My camera and computer would really appreciate a sprung rack. No rear suspension would appreciate the unsprung weight of a couple of full panniers. This is design and engineering, which require knowledge, and testing, which costs money (not to mention a factory and 400+ employees located in Europe). There are nice bikes for half the money (I have one), but nobody else is building _this_ bike at any price.
