Excellent telecast. Announcer team is very good I really like the helicopter aerial video segments showing the Finger Lakes and the beautiful setting in NY state. It is uncanny how many hours I have spent listening to John, Jeremy and Shea. It's like a tonic for this race fan. They seemed more casual and loose in this broadcast. Jeremy was extra-special good. I thought he spoke up more and when he would briefly call the action, he was surprisingly effective and exciting. The cameramen (or women) at the track did a fine job, too. The broadcast team had some missed cues and awkward moments, more than usual it seems, but they handled it cheerfully and after all, it's a 6 hour race. Congrats to all involved in the telecast, and thanks.

IMSA is awesome because of the tracks, and its commitment to professional racing. Its not just the racing parts of the tracks, the venues welcome fans into the pits and the camping areas. One thing IMSA needs to work on is cautions. They are still such an interruption to the race, not just in terms of waiting but also how they interrupt all the strategic battles on track. The endurance rounds should have a full course yellow/virtual safety car to preserve the distances between the cars.

Thanks for posting the race IMSA, however it's frustrating to get to the final hour of a 6hr race and discover that the video constantly speeds up/slows down, rendering it practically unwatchable. Not the first time this has happened with the channel. Maybe a quick manual check before uploading could prevent this in future?
@imsaofficial3 жыл бұрын
Videos are manually QA'd, however we unfortunately do not have the resources to watch every single minute of every single race posted. We pride ourselves in getting the races uploaded and published for our fans as quickly as possible. Feedback is very important to us and normally any issue reported is remedied. I don't know about ELMS, but the big difference I see between IMSA and WEC is personified in Sebastian Buemi. Yeah, he's FAST as hell, a very gifted driver, but every time I hear his voice, I hear a whiny little boy who blames everybody else for everything. He acts like he's entitled, with no humility. He takes me right out of it. And he works for a team that seems bent on extracting all the fun from racing. They are effective at winning - sorta - but where is the joy? (I felt the same about Penske's team though, but not their drivers.) And when I attend an IMSA race in person, I feel like I'm the celebrity guest. IMSA REALLY knows how to treat us fans as the valuable assets we are. All of those sponsorship decals and signs, they're there for us to see, not the teams. We're what makes any sports series a financially viable entity. We are the consumers of the marketing that pays for all this, and IMSA never takes us for granted. I'm not being cynical either. I think we fans are more than dollar signs to IMSA. As a parallel example, I'm a musician, and a good audience who enjoys the show takes my performance up a notch. I think sports teams are the same way. Maybe that's more difficult from inside the racing cockpit, but I think it's still a factor across the team. And IMSA makes sure the drivers get to know us fans. They get a sense of our excitement for what they do. That's my $.02

🤦🏻♂️ I’m perplexed by IMSA and their decision to have five categories in this series. The category that was actually one of the most exciting for GT racing is now pretty much two manufacturers racing if that, and then they added the lower class LMP’s which are incredibly boring and don’t get any camera time.
