How about using actual street spots and penalizing ABDs? That’s something that would actually push the level of skateboarding. As it is, SLS only rewards the same tricks that are repeated on every “hand rail!” Installed on a SLS course

I agree. I started entering contests in the mid 80's and and you had to nail a whole run of 45 seconds to a minute. I do like best trick too however and appreciate that they get a handful of attempts to land something that's a bit much for a run. I'd appreciate seeing both forms of skateboarding equally in a contest setting. Both are difficult and different

💯 agree. The single trick is cool, but there’s a lot to be said for a flow and sick line. I miss the 2/3 format. Give the boys 2 runs again and keep the top three scores.

Glad the guy who won got in as a wild card and scored the highest run score of the year. It's ridiculous that only one run is done and the score can be dropped. Go back to the format where a run score counted and rewarded consistency and rewarded taking risks with difficult tricks thrown into the run. There are other SLS pros who go out and do tricks that score 8s. No chance of winning like that. This guy took his chance and went for 9s and won it. Great effort!

I miss the O.G. Format from when they first started up, I think it was a line before they did the runs. I think they had a couple attempts at putting a line together but it would be on certain sections of the course. Then they had the big section lol

I felt like the judging was a bit inconsistent too.. other events this season I didn’t think so.. just some of my feedback here.. in the end it still comes down to skaters putting their tricks down and the podium would’ve been the same no matter I think 🙏

I agree with you both. I haven’t seen that done before, ever, and for it to be executed perfectly on a weird metal hubba, 2nd try in a huge contest like this and only get an 8.9? Meanwhile Nyjah does the same tricks over and over scoring 9’s is very questionable. I’m still glad Jagger won though but that and the nollie 180 fakie 5-0 should’ve been 9’s at minimum

One of the best super crowns ever! I may not be the biggest fan of Jagger but he 100% deserved that win, a bit sad for Shane though, 9.5 to start things off and he tries and fails the same trick 3 times, like at the olympics and tried switch tre double flip 4 times and never landed it and got a high score in his run section, he just seems to have some sort of OCD issue lol or is a bit stubborn in his own head, he has so many tricks in his bag and could surely pull something else out if the one trick isn't working

How do you give Kelvin a lower score for the kickflip bs lip, when he did it before anyone else did? Is it because he showed up Midler? Didn't Nyjah do the same, though? Mike V is a legend , I love that he has a new shoe! We grew up using Nike hitops , I remember cutting bike tube squares and gluing them as Ollie patches. It worked great for Converse much better than ductape.

we need the old format back, best trick shouldnt take up more of the contest, considering best tricks been pretty mid as of late smh! re-add the two 45 second runs this format aint it. Or look to the Dew Tour, their formats have always been perfect for Street Skating

Yeah, disagree also. I think he didn't get the score due to repetition. 270 in to all of his tricks. Amazing skater and amazing tricks, but Jagger deserved it.

Needed more variety, all 3 were the same front 3 to slides. Should've done a gap to back noseblunt but even then idk, Eaton deserved the win this go around.

That was a huge contest. Again pretty impressed by the level especially from Jagger. Unbelievably good! But the Nollie 180 Switch B's Smith and the Overcrook definitely should have scored higher. But that's my opinion. :D

Bringing something new should count a little extra. Nyjah does the cab nose blunt every contest. Kelvin does cab back tail every contest. Fs nollie back smith is SLS NBD, plus really, really amazing so it should be in the 9's for sure.

Not really. Kevin and Nyjah did exact the same trick and Kevin did it cleaner and he got scored lower. Also Rabelo got robbed he deserved the win

@@patrickwa9235 Nyjah did it off a kicker, Geoff was explaining during Midlers turn how much harder it is. The judges did very well vs how bad it was the last event. Jagger definitely performed better then the rest.

I think it takes pressure off cos you dont have to put down a consistent run and risk some harder tricks in the run to get good points. Alost always the run score gets dropped. No reward for consistency or risks.

Jagger’s run to start the comp, straight out of the gate, to set that tempo and standard was absolutely incredible. Well deserved. He was on fire that day and I’m happy for him and his fans. I know you either love Nyjah or don’t care too much for his style, but that’s been my dawg since pimpin been pimpin and I’m always pulling for him. He has a few trophies to look at back home, regardless of not placing on the podium in this year’s SLS SC Finals. Great skating across the board. Love it!!

I figured out the formula to win....there's a few different ways you can go about this 1. Nollie to switch trick 2. Switch to nollie trick 3. Flip trick to switch type grind 4. Any spin trick to switch type grind (180, 270, 360, big spin, cab, etc) 5. Do a huge switch type flip trick over a gap

I’m not a skater but have been watching SLS for about 10 years and think Jagger Eaton is the most exciting new face on the scene since Nyjah. He’s had an amazing rookie season. He’s killed IT and looks like he’s having the most fun.
