I owned three Volvos and a KIA Soul, but the proposal was too good this time. I bought a brand new 2020 Outback Touring XT in February and it's awesome. They finally put it on the new Global Architecture, they brought the Turbo back and it is loaded with safety features and technology. Gripes include the Turbo burning some oil, like my old Volvo 850 Turbo, and the LED headlights always making other drivers think they're high beams, thus making them flash theirs at me...

One disappointment I have a 2017 Forester XT and that engine and transmission integration for drivability is FAR superior to the Outback's The Forester XT engine is quiteter , much more responsive. The Outback XT seems lazy in comparison..slow to respond . I often drive to Maine from VT...350 miles of secondary roads..gettig stuck behind truck, RVs is where the Forester XT with better response and super responsive SI drive setting quickly steps our for passing. The Outback if very slow to get on the power in comparison....maybe playing with the padle shifter would help...but on the Forester that is not necessary.

The huge display is impressive at first glance but after putting several thousand miles on my 2020 outback limited I have to say it’s a giant safety fail. With knobs and buttons you can generally find your way around by feel but with the touch screen you have to take your eyes off the road several seconds at a time to do just about anything. For example to switch the air flow from recirculate to outside air, you have to touch the screen two times and in different places on the screen. Previously it was a button you had to push to toggle back and forth.

The Outback is also a very well-liked wagon for LGBTQ too

Only thing that keeps me from one of these is the cvt.

Give them a test drive, they tune the CVT to behave like a 7 speed so it might not feel as jarring as you might expect.

it does not act like a cvt

Rather check out the engine stop/start feature that is annoying and has to be disabled every time the car is started...

With the BROWN Leather Interior, WAKE UP SUBURU, give us a BROWN STEERING WHEEL, more Style IMO, so it doesn't look so bland. DIGITAL SPEEDDOMETER Should Be TWICE LARGER. UPGRADES THAT WOULD MAKE ME WANT TO BUY IT! Nothing Earth Shattering or that hard to make available it you seriously LISTEN to the needs of prospective buyers. Also I couldn't tell is there a thigh extender on at least the Driver's Side Seat?

Yes.

SI Drive would have been very useful, but unfortunately that's only on the Onyx XT.

I wish it was fully blacked, really hate the chrome trims in the side and front. Make up your mind Subaru...either fully chrome or just fully black it out.

Too cramped. Difficult to plug in to accessory ports. Gear shift too far back.

The 2021 Subaru Outback Xt, it’s alright, I don’t like the CVT!

I just wonder, maybe I'm nitpicking but why spend all the time and effort to build an amazing car only to fit it with such lame wheels?
