@danielcamacho19134 жыл бұрын
I do realize the mandatory 43mm intake restrictor didn't flow enough air to make the inline-6 worth the weight, when the minimum weight for the series was about 2/3 the weight of the Supras for sale to the public. That successful 4-cylinder Supra also had the firewall cut up to move the engine back. The driver sat several inches back from the original seat position. The transmission tunnel was a big, square box. The suspension geometry has been completely replaced. I think that race car retained less than half of the original Supra structure and none of the driveline, so it doesn't seem like a very good comparison.

What’s with the leaderboard out of interest? Different conditions? I’ve driven both the 2016M2 and it’s not quicker than the 2019 M2 Comp on the road or track?? and the FK8 is slower than a Focus RS on track?? Again driven both ..... not a chance. Is there a reason for this? Sorry as i haven’t watch every lap but seem a bit all over the place.

These day, a Supra making 194hp/255hp simply doesn't live up to the name. It's honestly embarrassing how Toyota have diluted the Supra legacy. Yes, a 4 pot is more eco-friendly but no one is buying a Supra to save the planet!
@carboydorifutoparty39764 жыл бұрын
The 4 banger was made as a way to get a cheap mk5/a way of basing off the jgtc mk4 with the 3sgte 4 cylinder. And if people are stupid enough to buy 4 pot maros and stangs they'll do the same with the mk5.

@@macbookpro57 But the low power versions aren't real Supras. They're for posers just like 4 and 6 pot Mustangs. It's like buying a standard BMW 3 series 'M' package, and trying to make out it's a sports car when it's not.
@macbookpro574 жыл бұрын
Duncan if that bmw 2.0l wasn’t a good engine, it’d agree, but that’s one of the better 2.0l 4 cylinders out there. I rented a new 3 series not too long ago with that engine, and those things are pretty quick, plus they’ve got a pretty nice exhaust note for a 4 banger. Just because a car doesn’t have 5 million horsepower, doesn’t mean it’s not a sports car. It still has great handling dynamics, and a 5 second 0-60 isn’t exactly slow...
@carboydorifutoparty39764 жыл бұрын
@@Duncan94 wait...huh?lower power models aren't supras? So the 2jzge mk4 isn't a supra because it has less power than the 2jzgte mk4? Or the 7m and 1g powered mk3s aren't supras yet the 1jzgte mk3 is a supra just cause it has more power than the 7m and 1g powered supras? What kind of logic is this exactly? So your telling me a car like the mustangs with 4 and 6 cylinders aren't mustangs yet past gen models had 4 pots or V6s back then that were specifically called mustangs by ford themselves.

I had an 04 Audi coolant system go to shit. I always used pink Audi vw coolant. Plastic water temp housing, plastic thermostat housing, plastic heater core hose fittings. None of the components can handle much more than 10 years of heat cycles before they go to shit. That's a fact not an opinion! My girlfriends 2010 BMW 545 complete garbage always had electrical issues. My 06 Subaru wrx all that coolant stuff is aluminum. My 08 Toyota 4runner aluminum no issues. BMW all plastic components that fail. Japanese cars are known for longevity, low cost of ownership. German cars are known for the opposite. That is a fact. If you own a modern German car that is out of warranty good luck I wouldn't touch it. My brothers 2015 audi rs5 with 25,000 miles just had the rear end go. The part was 7k plus bolts fluid labor it was a $10k job. Covered under warranty. Good luck with a German car that's out of warranty they are notoriously expensive for maintenance and repairs that's not an opinion I'm 40yrs old very mechanically inclined and I have owned and worked on both. German cars are very nice when they are new and under warranty if you dont mind rapid depreciation.
