@@LambChopRides it hurts my head just imagining you scrolling through ALL that 360 footage. It’s got to be so time consuming. But I suspect you’ve got a “system” now, after doing it for a while now. For me (as I get older, now 61)...this bike 'answers' most of my wishes....a Triumph, which actually has a reasonable amount of power/road usability....address one or two issues ( the seat comfort and those cheap shocks,....maybe a better paint job...or an earlier tank !)...and it should be the bike that fits my needs ( I have many, some of which will be sold to pay for it !)......as for the welded exhausts..I may get a set of downpipes from the previous model, which seem like they fit then newer bike (?)...and a decat crossover pipe....also maybe the earlier model Vance & Hines silencers.......will see......mine is on order ( paid deposit December 2nd '21.....delivery due...May '22 !....a bit ridiculous really ).....but it does give me time to accumulate all the extra bits I want !.....ROLL ON SUMMER !...

As always, a very nice review thank you (you rock brother). This bike on the showroom floor looks so much better than it does on video which says a lot about the new nice touches and features . I rode a Truxton RS and thought it was a terrific motorcycle it spun-up so easy almost electric and it was quite nimble. As a former R9T owner, I felt that bike’s bottom end felt rowdier and she wasn’t half bad at the top. I had an aftermarket rear shock (stock is dismal and shameful - 2016 model anyway) but the bike was well planted in the twisties. I thought the Thruxton and perhaps the SPEED , requires less effort (read body English) at a hard pace but that maybe one of the most endearing features of these bikes. Ask yourself what sensory / mechanical experience you like and how you ride. All three will wake the soul it just depends how much of a shake you need. I will ride the SPEED, but I may end with another R9T. The jury is out, cheers.

Enjoyable! Being 6'2" myself I appreciate the comments about peg-seat position. The lack of seat height for the passenger: I know that keeping the fairly flat seat makes the bike more 'retro,' but my GF (5'6") doesn't like being stuck behind me with no view. If I owned the bike I'd be looking into an aftermarket seat with a higher pillion portion (and better comfort all around?). Lighting - I wish reviews would address the quality of night lighting. One of the most dangerous things (for those of us who ride at night) is poor corner lighting. I think it became a serious problem with the move away from round headlights to animal eye headlights (they cut off the throw at the top). Please reviewers, consider adding this aspect to your reviews.

I love the look of this bike. Ummm, it's a very tasty looking bike in that red colour. Surely Chopsy 1200cc twin is more than enough fun to have on it? Despite the fact it's not super naked bike. I think you should do a comparison video, comparing it to the BMW R Nine T or the Kawasaki 900 that you reviewed a month ago. Chopsy you answered my prayers about the the need for a comparison video between these bikes by the end of the video. Fantastic!👍 There is something to be said about an parallel twin engine. Triumph seems to have been making them forever. Parallel Twins never let you down and give you all you need in terms of performance. Particularly that lower end torque This I think gives it the advantage over the Kawasaki inline four. It will be interesting to compare this parallel engine to the BMW boxer engine.

The Speed Twin cannot match the very tight hairpin handling capability of an agile MT09 SP on a serious mountain pass which can rely on plenty of in-gear punch (that includes high gear torque as well extra power from 7’000 rpm right to the limiter at 11’600 rpm - the low weight certainly helps - my 2020 model weighing in at optimized 182,7 kgs wet).

I test rode this and the z900rs. I found the Triumph to be a bit lethargic at the throttle with less than ideal suspension. Still getting used to mine as I just bought it 2 weeks ago, but I do have some disappointments. 1. Turn sigs are not self-cancelling (?) 2. The kickstand comes up between the peg and the shifter. Difficult to access. 3. You have to remove the sprocket cover to add coolant. What were they thinking? On my T120 there is a neck sticking out of the left side with a cap on it.. I am a little surprised at the gear ratios in road mode. I'm in 5th in a city block and 6th at 50.

@@davelawrence594 Hi Dave, I’m a little late to the party, but I tried both in California and, although I love them both, I went with the Z900rs. 1. At 5’6”, it actually fits me better ergonomically, which is most important to me. It’s got to feel like a “shoe that fits.”It sits a bit taller with the standard seat I have on it. It has more leg room with lower, more forward pegs and more comfortable seat than the Triumph. I am able to squeeze my knees at the perfect spot to relieve back and hand pressure. Also, I did add 1” bar risers to limit my forward lean. I am on tippy toes, but usually 1-foot it at stops. 2. Z900rs is sportier, handles better with lower center of gravity, and has more torque and hp. Yet, you can still just cruise on it if you want to. 3. 4 cylinder vs parallel twin is a personal preference. 4. I think Z900rs has a bigger tank capacity in that lovely, unique tear-drop tank. 5. Both have great fit and finish. Z900rs wins on paint IMO, especially with Candytone brown and the green and yellow ones! 6. Dials , numbers and info are easier to read on Z900rs. 7. I don’t experience the twitchy throttle here in US. Mine is as smooth as butter! I think that’s a Euro problem! 8. My 2018 already came with upside down front forks, great brakes, 2 levels of traction control, ABS, and LED lights! I went for comfort and performance, as well as looks. But everyone is different and some bikes just don’t fit, either ergonomically or performance wise. Good luck to you, Dave. I am sure you would be happy with either one!

The previous gen was an eye catcher for sure, and despite it's wee foibles, all bikes have them, it was very well received. I think on this model though, Triumph have overplayed their hand. USD forks and radial calipers definitely do not belong on this. I get they are looking for bullet points on the brochure, the big recognised manufacturers names in there, to differentiate the model years, but I think it's to the detriment of the bike overall. Just my opinion of course, I'm sure loads of folks will love it :>)

Love the look, would like the bike to be a bit taller with about 15 more HP, just because I want 115hp. LOL… So, this is my dilemma , 6’3.5” tall, 33.5” inseam, 247 pounds… want to get a Triumph again, but want it to fit better than the Street Triple 2018 RS did. Any thoughts? Currently own the 2018 R1200GS which ain’t going anywhere. Thoughts Chops?
