I built this 4Runner over the course of 5 months to be ready for any Overlanding Adventure.

That color was the 2020 TRD Pro color. You can now get it in a couple lower trim levels but you can no longer get it in the TRD Pro which this one is trying to look like since he changed the front grill, exhaust, and rear valance.

I watched a car review a few years ago by this guy named Doug DeMuro and he said in his review "The Toyota 4Runner is total garbage! This thing is so ancient it doesn't even have Apple Car Play, this monstrosity won't sell." Beautiful rig! One thing…. Re-plumb your air tank with a tee in/out and a drain valve on the bottom. Your tank WILL fill with water over time reducing the actual air capacity and cause a ton of other problems. Absolutely love this build! Well done.

Nice rig. Only correction is the Gobi Roof Rack is a stealth rack and not a ranger rack. The ranger rack is much taller. Just pointing it out incase anyone wanted to spec their 4Runner out like yours. And they wait 14+ weeks for the wrong Gobi rack

Can you help describe how is it different from driving a complete stock 4Runner TRD OFF ROAd? I just got one and I’d like to build it the way you did but I am afraid it would ruin the way it handles in paved road. Specially me, I am on the aggressive style driving in paved roads. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

@@overisland22 yeah I did get the 6 speed manual which already comes with a bit better gear ratio and I won't be tossing any huge tires on. So I'm hoping i wouldn't need gears and it would increase the value of the truck. Not expecting a rocket ship just want some real truck power lol.

@@dillonlamb8588 check into an OV Tune. I had a 2018 stick shift Tacoma with 285’s and a bunch of extras. The OVTune increases the redline by 500 rpm’s and boosts power a bit.

My goodness!! If I went to a shop and ask for the same build I’m sure they’ll tell me that’s the executive build 😢 and I couldn’t afford it lol Love the build! Can I ask how much the suspension cost? I’m getting an estimate of Bilstein 5100 front, 5160 rear, SPC uca, front and rear medium load springs, with labor is $2650 plus tax installed. Falkens AT requested is $1250 plus tax for all 4 mounted and balanced. Total : $3900

Thanks a lot man! The base toytec 5100 lift was 1k, icon uca about 800, bump stops front and rear about 500. I did the install myself so no labor. 3900 for all that sounds pretty good.

It is mounted to the inside of the fender on an SDHQ mount near the brake master cylinder. I had planned to run a power tray and mount it there but the intercooler reservoir took up that spot.

How's the ride quality with the Bilstein's and Eibach springs? The big seller in 2015 when I got my T4R was the Toytec Boss.

All around it is great. I tried OME rear springs and they were very stiff comparatively. Also tried Icon rear springs and they lifted it way higher than advertised, although did ride well. The toytec superflex rear springs are pretty fantastic

Nice rig but that airline is going to get fucked up being in the front like that. If you have any kind of steep approach angles with mud getting shoved into the front bumper, you will break that airline.

Super charger installed $ 10K, Bumper & Winch $ 4.5K, Rims Tires $4.5K, Lift $4K, 4.56 Gearing $3.5K, Roof rack system, Rock Sliders & Body Skid System $3.5K, Led Lights $1.5K ARB Compressor Setup $1.5K, STUPIDEST THING OF BUILD - Stock spare tire = Dumb way to smoke a differential!!! Nice build if you have an $30K laying around…. Not for typical owners… 4Runner $45K + $30K = $75K of course it’s NICE! Where is the East Coast Gear Clam Shell Differential Bearing Upgrade - Every lift 3 inches and above required this!

Beautiful build. What made you go with the 4.56 gears instead of 4.88? Just seems like everyone goes 4.88 with 35s.

I was concerned with highway RPM's and with the Supercharger I knew I had the torque to make up for not going to 4.88's. Real happy with going 4.56. Honestly the gear swap made more of a difference than the supercharger did.

How would you think the 4.56 gears would be if you also had a lot more weight? I am soon to install the Magnuson SC and 35" tires. I have full size steel front and rear bumpers, full steel skids, and the 24 gal aux fuel tank. Currently trying to decide on 4.56 vs 4.88. Any times you threw a lot of weight in gear on the inside for comparison?

No plan currently, I always have a tire plug kit with me along with the hard mounted compressor. I say that although I blew out the sidewall on my Jeep JL 37" tire in Moab last February and needed to swap on the trail. Hah! Hope that doesn't happen.
