Hi Scott as always a well thought out and communicated review. I'm 64 years old and have been riding Aprilia Tuono's since 2008. My2020 RR Tuono is a magnificent bike. I have ridden H2's and KTM 1290's and while in a straight line they have more power nothing matches the handling and Torque the sound and pure feel that the Tuono provides. Also your never too old to ride the bike of your dreams just be smart about how and where you ride

Yes, the extra inch will help. Thanks for a great report. I ride an MT-10. The acceleration, braking, and turning are incredible and I love it. But I’m going to add a much slower bike to my stable. These motors in the super nakeds are not happy at slower speeds, and if you rev them out, you are breaking the law from 2nd on up.

Nice video Scott. I have just bought a new 2022 Standard 1100 V4 Tuono as I find the higher bars make the riding position [for me] much more comfortable. I reach the grand old age of 60 this year and my old wrists will appreciate the extra comfort of the raised bars. Totally agree that this is still the top super naked and it continues to win nearly all the super naked shootouts. Take care Scott and ride safe.

I have a 2019 Tuono RR and love it. I’ve seen race track comparisons where the Aprilia beats bikes with much more HP like the Ducati. The Ape does a better job with getting the power on the asphalt; feels fully connected to the road. Thanks for the informative update!

I test rode a tuono when I accepted that my Ducati 1299s was as “a bit much for the road”, as well as a superduke and Ducati street fighter v4. I just happened to take out a HD Softail Slim out and after 100 yards on the road I knew this was what was going to be in my garage. Best decision I’ve made, love riding a motorbike that I can ride on the road without worrying about my licence

Sorry, Mr., Apparently I am too dumb to get your real name behind these quite entertaining and well technically backed up information on some real iron on wheels. "Every day is a good day, mate, watching some of your stuff"! Keep at it! And judging from you not holding back laughter taking that colorful moto for a ride, it certainly is plenty of fun. But to me, from the front with all the "candy" fairing and the tiny shield, ain't not a proper naked, thus agreeing with the other commentator. When the roll-out starts, please check out the Guzzi v100, a real heart-stopper! All the best, be safe, Torsten (Germany)

Agreed! The thumb nail is just click bait 😁😒 But to a certain extent I did feel a little old on this bike, like it was no longer built for me and what that leads me to this conclusion is my lower back and arthritics in my neck. Which I didn't have problems with until a few years ago and at 55yrs old I'm right behind you. I'd still own a bike like this no problem, I just would not put on as many miles on it as when I was younger. take care, Scott

@@NothingToProve Thanks for the reply. Yes my current ride is the Suzuki Hayabusa and the 2019 Suzuki Katana. I must admit the Hayabusa with the more aggressive riding position is becoming a little harder to handle especially on longer rides. I also suffer from mild back pain and arthritis so that doesnt help, but riding makes me feel young and alive, so that alleviates the negatives! Love the way you present your videos, the scenery there in Germany 🇩🇪looks terrific, it is a country I plan to visit before I check out! Thanks again and regards from “Downunder” Australia 🇦🇺 Jeff

Excellent review! Seems like everyone in the M.C. community is always yelling over hard rock, hyper excited, or British! I’ve been in the market for a new bike this last year and The Tuono was very hard to pass up! It’s comfortable, has enough ferrying, and power.. 🤔Power, it’s still in the too much for the street category, and as this will be my third bike in the garage next to a Diavel and 996, I decided to go full on, useless, superbike Panigale V4S! If I were practical,🤷‍♂️ or could only have one bike, The Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory, for sure would be THE BIKE..

Sir it’s not ewwlins it’s oLenz I have watched a KZbin video summarizing a written summary of the Wikipedia page about Germany so I am a bit of an expert on the subject matter and it would behoove you to take note of the good deed I’ve bestowed upon you in sharing my wisdom with you. On day you too may come to be formally educated on Germany/German and then you’ll understand. Ohlins is German and I know this because of the little tattoo on the top of the O in ohlins, which is only done in German because of Hitlers distaste for the overweight letter that is O. He had planned to send it and a few other letters to the camps but he ran out of time and resources toward the end of the war. I know this because I saw a KZbin short about…well you know what I’m going to say.

Aren’t the quick shifters on triumph extremely slow? How can that be any better than the Japanese?
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 2 жыл бұрын
Well, in my experience, the Japanese generally are slower than Aprilia, BMW, Triumph, KTM, specifically - supernakeds. I've not ridden enough Ducati's to have an opinion (over-all on Ducati), hope to change that in the next month though. Been on several Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha but not very many Suzuki (with QS), so I can only say that with the exception of Suzuki due to lack of experience. BMW really depends on the motor, in-line 4's have great QS but boxer or parallel twins = very slow. What's your experience with QS on Triumph? Have you tried the RS, speed or street? It's very fast, slick & smooth. take care, Scott

@@NothingToProve I’ve ridden almost all of the brands’ naked except for MV. Currently owning a BMW R1250R(2019) and yamaha XSR900(2022), my brother owns a Ducati Supersport 950s,(2020). I’ve test ridden the speed triple 1200 RS in the sports mode, but the QS upshift seems so slow its like an automatic box from a car. I’m not sure if it’s changeable in the menu. And yes, I agree it is smooth😅 The downshift is faster but still on the slow side IMO, maybe I’m just not reving it enough. Boxer engine’s QS upshift is fast but very rough and needs to be around the red line to work good. Downshift is also fast but still rough. Ducati, Yamaha are smooth and fast IMO. Kawasaki only ridden the small zx250r, which was also smooth and fast. Honda and Suzuki never ridden a bike with QS. Just personal experience BTW

I've owned 4 Aprilia's. 3 of them were Tuono's. Never had any issues with any of them. Parts are easy to get (before covid) but you really dont need much but oil and filters.

@@markwoolard3315 good to hear, I hear and read many more that have different experiences. Before and during Covid. I have a riding acquaintance who says his Aprilia experience is like yours, but he has 9 bikes and hasn't had an Aprilia ever with more than 5k miles. So that doesn't really count. I hope you have put some sizable miles on each of yours behind your testimony, maybe 5-10k a year each, keeping them 3-5 years?

Yea, I guess I pronounce it the German way and not the English way. But he is from Sweden with a German name, so I wonder how Mr. Öhlins pronounces it.

Well my old German teacher told us an umlaut 'O' was pronounced more like 'er', so 'er-lins'. But it's a Swedish name isn't it, so goodness knows 😁
