Freaking finally someone that reviews this care for the day-to-day driver and not for the track freak. Thank you sir!

Glad you appreciate it! What’s funny is that I’m way more hardcore about driving than any track day bloke.

Cool car but I'll wait for solid state lighter batteries before I committ to an EV. Super heavy right now.

This car is one of the fastest accelerating cars I've ever seen on KZbin. What puzzles me is that C8 Corvette does 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds, and this is half a second slower - but the acceleration here seems much more brutal and robust. Is it because of the better body control in the C8?
@BrianMakse2 жыл бұрын
The C8's about 1400 pounds lighter and fitted with sticky tires that benefit from weight transfer under acceleration.

I was just thinking about how this car drives, then like magic you reviewed it.

Our ppf goes onto our M50 next week then I'm letting the dealer put it in the showroom for a week. After that, I'm excited to bring it home to small town Saskatchewan to be charged on our new solar installation. Paying 89 000 for a car is a little bit painful but basically after that now being able to drive for free, feels pretty good. Nice to have yet another good review of a car we threw caution to the wind on and ordered sight unseen when there were almost no real world reviews on the car. I think we made a good choice. Now apparently, we have the first and only M50 in Saskatchewan.

Great review as always. Weird though that I watched then this immediately went back and gave your M240i review another look :)

This and the M240 are highlights across BMW's range right now.

Nice review. Not enough reporting comparing AWD on the M50 vs mechanical systems. Wish engineers would chime in. Yes, it appears very sophisticated. Reluctantly giving up an Audi A5 6MT. Perhaps future EVs will have a highway overdrive?
@BrianMakse2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, if I had been on the launch, I would have had that conversation with the engineers because from my perspective, it’s vital to understand since it has such an impact on driving dynamics. Here in backwater Canada, there’s no chance of having that conversation otherwise. Anyway, go drive one. You’ll like it.

@@BrianMakse "Anyway, go drive one. You’ll like it." I did, and I did! I'm seriously considering this as my first EV. And, FWIW, I've driven a lot of sports cars...Vettes, Porsche Carrerra GT, and driven on tracks and strips, and six years on German Autobahns. This car is worthy of all but the most diehard track people.

@@donwilber1628 Good stuff. I've got the 40 coming in for testing soon and I hear it's quite good, as well. This is the golden age of EVs.

The only thing missing for me is a rear wash wipe but it has not stopped me buying one.
