2022 Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae Review // $600,000 Whiplash

The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae (~$709,148 CAD converted, $558,853 USD as specced) is a roaring V12 monster limited to only 350 Coupe models; and has the most power seen in any Aventador ever. Its ability to rocket from 0-100 km/h in its claimed time of 2.8 seconds is in part due to the incredible 769 hp output, the absurd launch control, and the aggressive single clutch transmission that makes for thunderous shifts at full throttle.
But is this simply too much supercar for the road - even as a weekend driver? Or is it the right amount of brilliant engineering, recognizable style, and sheer driving insanity to have both Thomas and James giggling like school children off a single launch? I remember when Top Gear first made their video review of the Aventador in 2011, saying that with their V12 cars Lamborghini really likes to take their time, taking over 10 years to come out with each new model. I remember watching that back then and thinking that times had changed and they'd be out with a new main V12 model in a few years because surely car design was moving so fast that the Aventador would start looking outdated. And here we are, 11 years later, this car _still_ looks crazy, and other than the interior that design fits in with supercars today.

The Mercedes S Class n Maybachs became synonymous with movie stars, musicians n athletes and is still highly sought after today. They will be remembered as such by non-car folks but petrolheads will remember them for that monstrous V12. I hope they continue to stay around a long long time.

I’m not sure. It’s far less outrageous and cool than the Countach was in the 80’s. Its philosophy is also a bit like Gordon’s T.50 except with an added 600kg and a less responsive or high revving NA engine. Nice car still, even in its price range, but hardly one to be remembered.

The Aventador is my favorite car, and I can’t imagine anything else replacing it for me. It’s the car that made me interested in cars, thinking “wow, that engine sounds cool” and “that is the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen.” Nothing else has captivated me as this car has. It makes me so sad thinking we are coming to the end of its era. I’ve sat in a couple of these beauties and I’ll never forget it. This new iteration is a beauty, but my favorite is the SV. I just really line the front bumper. Though the rear on the SVJ is clearly the best. Each of these cars is elegant, graceful, yet also a complete animal at the same time. They’re just perfect in my eyes. Great review!

One of my clients has an aventador sv that came from the factory with an upgraded ecu and exhaust, as well as an “LP 825” badge. They made a small amount of them, but that’s actually the most powerful aventador ever made
