The One to buy. The ride is excellent and luxurious. I have lots of friends who bought one of these after experiencing the nightmare of owning unreliable German SUV's - BMW X series, Mercedes ML/GL or Audi Q. What a difference- not a single problem and some of them are touching 180k miles now. It might be behind on the gizmos and gadgets side but you have a vehicle that will serve you trouble free for 20 years at least. Build in Japan with superb quality. It tows really well and impressively off -road capable. Bulletproof !!!

Just bought one a week ago from Annapolis Lexus. No dealer markup however they hit you with a front 3M film package. Hood, front bumper and side mirrors for $2400 with a paint protection package 10 years and interior protection package 4 years for another $1600. We got them to dealer cost minus $800. February 2022 and they are selling before they are even on the lot. Blackline edition with 2nd row bench and 3rd row fold down Black on Black. $64k Crazy how car dealerships are the most profitable they have ever been with less cars still forcing dealer add ons with the sale before the car is even on the lot. At least they don't have a $5000 dealer markup sticker on every car like Annapolis Toyota. $54k for a Highlander. The choice to go with the bigger better Lexus was a no brainer. Trade INS are still up though $35k for a 2016 suburban Lt with the ltz package and 85k miles. The Finance guy said he sees no changes in the foreseeable future. They don't want changes, they want that profit. Holding back inventory makes a false perception of scarcity fueling profits.
@allaboutcars48352 жыл бұрын
That package basically means that you DID pay a markup. A $5000 markup to be exact. Those little stickers that the stick behind the door handles etc cost them about 66¢ a piece. All you had to do was tell them to stick that door handles stickers package up their a**, and they would have done just so and sold it to you at MSRP.

I specifically wanted the "fake" leather as it's more durable with less maintenance than real leather. I've got 2600 miles on my Starfire Pearl Black Line Edition now and it's been great. There is a rattle from the hatch when it gets really cold but that's all I've got to complain about really. Now if Lexus would just get the Class IV hitch available again. All GX 460's in the US have 3 rows. You just have to pick up the cargo mat in the back and pull them up. The Luxury and Premium w/ the Plus package will have power third row.

@BamaPatriot61 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronyoung6903 yes we ended up buying a 2023 GX premium plus with the sports package and rear captains seating. Salesman found us a needle in a haystack with the dark blue color, optional 19 inch wheels and tan leather interior. We love it and plan on keeping it for many years. We liked it so much that my wife wanted an ES350 so we recently bought a 2020 certified one to put the commuting miles on.

@@BamaPatriot61 Nice! I’m considering trading in my Jeep Wrangler as well for a 23 GX. I go back and forth on it. I have 109,000 on my Wrangler and it is now starting to nickel and dime me. I thought about a new Jeep but, I hesitate about doing so. Did you also get the ML sound system? What are your thoughts on it. I was looking at the Black Line edition and realized you can’t get the sound system upgrade.
@BamaPatriot61 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronyoung6903 I d say go for it. I don’t think you’d regret it. Yes we got the ML sound system and it’s well worth the price IMO. Fantastic sound system. As a former Jeep owner, I know gas mileage was never really considered but many make a big deal if that with the GX. However, I get almost 22mpg on the hwy and 17-18 around my house, which was almost identical to my last Wrangler. The wrangler before that was lifted and had huge tires etc so i was lucky to get 13-14. Lexus recommends premium fuel which isn’t as big a deal as I thought. I’ve used mid grade a couple of times and couldn’t tell any difference. My wife and I always loved our Jeeps and had great times in them, but we don’t miss the Jeep since getting the GX. We couldn’t ask for a better hwy cruiser. We plan on keeping this GX for at least ten years. They’ve been building it almost the same for many years in the number one factory in the world when it comes to quality. The long term reliability might be the best on the planet. Also, there are groups that rig their GXs to go off-roading if you ever wanted to do that. The 4x4 system on it is fantastic as well.

I owned at Lexus SUV and it was a great car. However, that was before they put the monstrous grills on them. Today, the price would have to come way down before I would brave the daily embarrassment of publicly walking up to and getting into one. Also, ICE cars now just seem like dinosaurs...I wouldn't recommend any of them to a friend or relative. A fancy ICE car screams out, "I think I'm cool but I'm not." Soon they will be like 60's bellbottoms.
