I picked my 2022 GX a couple of weeks ago. This is one of the most capable and comfortable SUV ever. I had those German piece of S.. Suvs that had all the new tech gadgets but lived in dealership most of the time due to electrical and transmission issues. I love the new grill and everything about this SUV. I did a trip to Palm Springs California and averaged 22 MPG at 70 miles per hour. Love Love Love this thing. Not sure what you mean by cramped up.... all other SUVs in this class has even worse space accommodations. You keep talking about the unreliable land rover discovery piece of junk, will not touch that suv with a 10ft pole.

Some "old technology" like 6 sp trans and the naturally aspirated 4.7 V8 makes the drivetrain bulletproof. Toyota/Lexus has a history of refining their designs in order to perfect them. The cool thing about the old school N/A engine and transmission is that these, and the previous generation GX470's, are absolutely bulletproof and can easily run 300,000 miles and more. I've owned 2 GX470's and currently an early GX460 pre-gridzilla styling, and they're wonderful for what they are designed for. Thanks for the video, so this vehicle better then 2019 4runner trd off road?
@larrysmith18512 ай бұрын
The reviewer clearly does not understand the Toyota/Lexus design philosophy employed on the GX460 and 4Runner - each of which has been in production in their current form (5th Gen for the 4Runner) since 2010. These are time tested vehicles built on the Tahara assembly line, which is perhaps the most renowned and respected in Japan, and one of the most advanced in the world. The competing vehicles listed in this video are no competition at all to the GX460 in terms of build quality, reliability, longevity and product support. Instead of nitpicking fonts, a good automotive journalist should spend more time under the vehicle to truly appreciate what a happy miracle it is that the GX460 changed little in its production lifetime. As an owner of a 2023 Blackline Edition who spent nearly 20 years in a 2005 4th Gen 4Runner, I am honored to have the last best example of what may be the best all-around and most bullet-proof SUV ever built!

I was looking at a GX460 when I was looking for a vehicle for my wife but that small gas tank and low ground clearance was something I did not like. No you cannot remove parts of the bumper to get better clearance you have to cut. Still didn't make any difference to ground clearance. 4Runner Limited won the ticket for my wife over GX460 with 7 seats, retractable running boards, same 23gal fuel tank but for a smaller v6 that gives her extra fuel range.
@josephsantangelo28012 жыл бұрын
I have a 2018 4Runner limited with 3rd row and automatic running boards like your wife’s. I love it but I’m trading it for a ‘22 or ‘23 GX before they redesign it and remove the NA V8. My 4Runner is great but this is my 3rd one and I’m ready for something different and I want more power. But 4Runner is awesome.
@LionRunner2 жыл бұрын
@@josephsantangelo2801 Buying N/A v8 is a good thing long term before they use turbo v6 for fuel efficiency. After new Tundra sometimes I think I should have got a v8 Tundra with 38gal tank when they were available. I did like the 4.7 v8 Tundra. My only complain was it had a small tank. Finding a dealer without markup on the GX would be tough. They are HOT...!! You would love the driving feel. Very adequate power from that v8 and 6spd auto.

@@josephsantangelo2801 recently got a GX - no markup. I called a bunch of Lexus dealers all across the country looking for specific colors/interiors and none of them were marking up. They were just putting vehicles on hold before they arrived as most were selling shortly after hitting the lot, with the exception of 1-2 color/interior combos that were less popular. Only Toyota dealers were gouging prices on the 4runners from what I saw (to the point in which I realized I might as well just get the GX instead of throw money to the wind).
