I do a like a Lexus. The UX doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. A BMW X1 is so hung up being a sports car it missed the point of being a comfy daily driver. The UX is meant to be a car driven for comfort. It’s totally relaxed and chilled out.
@Adamlllllllllllljjjljljjjjj Жыл бұрын
That’s true. Lexus doesn’t compromise on being sporty. I would get this over an X1 but I’d rather have a torque converter than a CVT and also if they allow larger wheels as an option. I feel like with the soft dampers it would be alright with 20’ wheels and it will fill out those square wheel arches
@InteriorDesignAnderson Жыл бұрын
@@Adamlllllllllllljjjljljjjjj the CVT isn’t that intrusive tbh and in the long run it’s more reliable. In terms of the wheels that a matter of choice but for a daily driver I’d always opt for the smaller size for additional comfort, plus your tiers won’t cost as much when you need to change them.

Very good and informative review. Really conveyed what the car is like to drive. These are coming up at some very good prices used now, making them very tempting. lots of good spec

At the start when he mentions the high revving intrusive nature of the engine, its normal for any CVT including this ECVT. Engine revs increase as CVT catches up then once you have got up to whatever speed you wish to do, the revs will drop. Its a constant up and down as its only a fixed single gear. I prefer these to manual or standard auto boxes. Im not keen on feeling gear changes. CVT are not for everyone but once you get used to how they are designed to work, they are a very nice experience. The road isnt a race track so for mature drivers who can actually drive, its perfect.
@davidwright1752 Жыл бұрын
CVT is Infinitely variable transmission in comparison if you try to make a manual gearbox like it would be several hundred gears. Bit difficult to drive .I do not like the driving experience of a CVT the majority of them are not a good gearbox The exception to the rule is the Toyota CVT which is A very different design to everybody else CVT so therefore they need to be avoided in other makes. I think the manufacturers are making CVT transmissions due to the fact they are cheap To make.

I owned a brand new Premium Sport on a 22 plate. I didn’t like it as much as my X2. The CVT gearbox is raucous when you accelerate and the infotainment system was dire, although I believe they have updated it. The boot is just too small and servicing costs are astronomical!

Forget the track pad and use voice control from the button on the steering wheel. The P711 transmission is great. Smooth and quiet using all its 181 BHP to rapid effect. Reversing camera wideness is adjustable. 53 MPG is easy to achieve. The reviewer is not very competent.

@@oddities-whatnot Me neither, I had a 320i which fucked its timing chain, I should of done more research as its a common thing on them apparently, I would never buy a German car ever again, there's a reason why they're at the bottom half of every reliability list, I now own a IS300h, not as "fun" but way comfier and reliable and IMO looks better.
