Nice video. Just to let you know at 14:50 you mentioned there was a 33% increase in the comparison but it’s actually 50%. 20K to 30K is a 50% increase Mr. ZolloTech

I think comparing the M1, 16gb ram, 1TB SSD with the M2, 16GB, 1TB would have been a better comparison. The M1 being 300.00 cheaper would definitely give the M2 a run for its money.

I sold my 2017 MacBook Pro with 16GB and 1TB drive for a 10 Core / 16GB air with 512GB Drive. Did I make a good choice? Obviously, it didn't pay for the whole thing but made it cheaper to buy.

I'm a college computer science student, I don't have any macbook yet, I'm choosing between base m1 pro 14 or the m2 air with 512 gb ssd and 24 gb RAM. Yes the pro is close in terms of price with fan, better screen and powerful gpu, but the air is more battery efficient, lighter and much portable, no fans means better dust proof, offers protection to internals because there's not a lot of holes and more RAM for lower price, 24 gb vs the 16 gb base of the 14". If you go with the 32 gb ram for pro 14, the price will be much higher.

no apple store is going to get the 16/512 combo. the only model they have with 16gb unified memory is the 1tb option, priced accordingly. If youre going to consider switching, I would do it sooner rather than later so the shipping times arent insane.

Starlight is the more practical color, I feel like the midnight looks really nice aesthetically but its such a finger print magnet. Good luck switching it out though most apple stores are sold out, hopefully the hype died down by the time you get yours and are able to easily do it.

I still use a 2015 MacBook Pro which is working ok as I'm an amateur photographer/editor with photoshop, Lightroom, premier, etc and usually use the laptop heavily during weekends. But I would like guidance for usage of these apps on the M2 and maybe to advise on sizing, cpu, etc if I want to upgrade. I'm expecting people to say... 'yes just buy it'. But I wish to know what is good for someone with amateur skills and a heavy weekend user to buy? Will the basic M2 MacBook Air be good enough to handle this or to go with an M1 Pro? Appreciate your time.

This is a tremendous video, Aaron. I am currently trying to decide between waiting for the newer MacBook Pros, which apparently should be out within a few months, or the M2 Air. (My current laptop doesn't support Ventura.) The monitor attachment limitation is absolutely the only thing holding me back as this looks like a great laptop otherwise.

Love it Aaron! Your video is definitely one I was looking forward to. I always love the unboxing and setup segments. I have an M1 MacBook Pro I bought in 2020 and its doing just for me. Probably won't upgrade to another MacBook until late 2025. If Apple releases a 32 inch iMac in a couple years, I might detour on that as my next Mac.

At least have a vapour chamber if there are no fans, this heat you're measuring with heat guns is external temperature but in the long run degrades battery and displays especially OLEDs.

Thinking this might be my next computer. I've got an older MacBook Pro that won't update past Catalina. Might go with your configuration, although don't think I'll spring for the 1TB drive, probably get a 512. I can offload my iTunes library to an external drive, and have plenty of space left on the internal one.
