No one is buying an Outlander (or competitor) to put the pedal to the floor and blast down highways doing 140. No idea why reviewers have such a hard time understanding target markets. These cars drive well when commuting and long distance trips are the typical use case, especially for people who enjoy playing the MPG mini-game (finding the sweet spot and using controlled accelerations for maximum MPG). Overall the review is good and nothing in it is factually incorrect, but most cars in this segments aren't for people who want to go fast. Mitsubishi banked on most buyers in this segment prioritizing styling, technology, comfort and MPGs. For that target market, the Outlander seems like a pretty strong option, especially when you factor in the warranty.

Right. The Outlander is a nice cruiser around the city or doing light things. Nobody is going to do quarter mile races or towing 5th wheels in it. So I don't understand why these guys are whining about power. Want power? Get a Chevy SS or a power stroke diesel.

We have had 3 Mitsubishi Outlander’s ourselves. First two were leases and decided to buy out one lease at the end of the contract (both were 2018’s). Then we purchased a 3rd new 2022 Outlander. Great vehicles in their price point. Extremely reliable and stylish. At least we can purchase a well built SUV without spending money like the looks of an equivalent higher end SUV. For now, we will stay with the Outlander.

At around 2:50 run time you say it’s strange that the headlights are lower in the bumper. It’s not that strange, it’s becoming more and more common and for a very good reason. Lifted trucks past a certain height have always run an extra set of headlights mounted much lower. Sometimes as low or lower than fog light positions. The reason is the lower the light is mounted on the vehicle the higher they can be aimed down the road without being so high that they blind oncoming traffic and people driving directly in front of you. So they have started mounting the lights lower on these new SUV’s so that the light source can be aimed further down the road without blinding oncoming traffic or traffic traveling the same direction as you right in front of you. I’m personally glad they’re doing this. Since lights are becoming incredibly bright and have very smart features in them. It only makes sense to start making changes that help make them less of a distraction and more safe for other drivers around you.

Great video. I think what you get for the price of this vehicle is really good. The fact that the GT Premium trim goes for around $45K MRSP makes this vehicle really good value. When you look at other vehicles in that price range, they definitely do not have interiors like this one. However, like you mentioned, most vehicles in this price range are turbo charged. That is probably the only disappointing part of the vehicle.

From what I’ve been told the rogues continue to struggle with problems and they try a new 3 cylinder turbo charged engine? 10 year warranty, 160, 000 kilometres as well! Unbeatable as opposed to Nissan’s 3 or 4 year power train coverage. Shows confidence in the engineering

Feel you on that one. "Not the Mitsubishi I wanted". Sadly, all future Mitsubishi vehicles are going to be based off a shared Renault-Nissan platform. So, the components that made Mitsubishi great will likely be gone for good - including the purist S-AWC that was only ever fitted on the Evo X. Personally, I just can't get myself to accept any new Mitsubishi - and it isn't just because you're really just buying a Renault /Nissan - but the subpar components alone speak to their value. CVT - that should be enough to steer any seasoned car enthusiast away. Sadly, everything else in the Mitsubishi line is due for a refresh, and hence nothing else is as modern. So, I guess we're stuck buying old stuff, if we want only the truly "good Mitsubishis" to inhabit our stables.

@slippercream2 жыл бұрын
@@gerardferry8810 time will tell. And I sincerely hope so. But what I will say is that the JATCO CVT in this thing has been the single largest cause of concern for Mitsubishi owners and service departments alike. It's also what keeps the general perception of the quality of Mitsubishi components, down. Most failures in Mitsubishi vehicles are due to this transmission. But, don't take my word for it - search for yourself. Doesn't always mean that because something is "made in Japan", it's always better. I'd gladly take a 12-year old Getrag than a brand new JATCO any day.
