Join me on my first ride on the new MT10SP, is it a viable "all-rounder" ???

Cheers for that. I got mine a week ago. I’ve had a preloved ‘17 MT10 for 3 years and love it that much I ordered the ‘22 SP as soon as it was announced. I can tell your viewers the Ohlins are worth every cent to me, the fueling/quick shift is more refined and the extra intake roar encourages bad behaviour 👍🏻😎

LOL ye that intake roar is unreal ... so glad you're happy, it's a great bike !!! (thanks for watching)

Grats! I've also had the standard 2019 mt10, done over 40000kms on it. Planning to get the SP version prolly next year.

Hi Ian. A lot of my riding is on bumpy country back roads. How do you find the suspension of the SP on rough roads ?

Took delivery of my standard MT10 2022 in Tech Black only yesterday. Coming from an original MK1 MT09 I have to say that it feels pretty plush and comfortable in the few miles I've done on it. I've yet to get my head around all the tech but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon enough. Haven't really noticed the extra weight, I specced the comfort seat, Black Akra silencer plus Carbon fibre cover for the cat, Gilles tooling levers and Chain adjusters, GB Racing engine protection pack, Yamaha Rad and Oil cooler guards, Side tank grip and Tank pad. I've also ordered separately an Evo Tech tail tidy, spindle bobbins for front and rear wheels, Engine crash bobbins and paddock stand bobbins all of which are also Evo tech. That'll do for now, my wallet hurts. 😃 Can't wait for next summer. 🤟🤟🤟

I didn’t like the mirror length but I found 40mm extensions on ebay, did the job perfectly. I have the 22 standard and it rides fantastic.

Yes I'm sure 40mm would make all the difference to the mirrors and thanks for watching.

I got a 2022 MT-09 SP 2 weeks ago. (I ordered a 2021 and after a year a 2022 showed up) It's a first bike, so I'm taking it slow. It has an Öhlins suspension, but not the State-Of-The-Art Semi-active that the MT-10 SP has.

I’m expecting for the opportunity to ride this specific model and version of the Yamaha T-10. At the present I have a SDGT, but would definitely like to try the fourth cilindres engine and see in comparison if the semi active suspensions does keep up with the performance of the WP APEX that come from stock on the KTM SDGT . I’m really curious about that. Thanks for the video . Ride safe. ✌️✌️
@Carlshandlebarsandholidays2 жыл бұрын
Yes, an interesting comparison, I've still not ridden a SD GT, that's one I'm looking forward to !

Nice vid! Whats the mic you have connected to your gopro?(the one we can se on the video)
@Carlshandlebarsandholidays2 жыл бұрын
Hi, the actual microphone I use is a Rode Lavalier Go, but the thing you can see on the side of my helmet (behind my Sena intercom) is the Rode Wireless Go II, which isn't really necessary I just use that to "transmit" the mic to the GoPro media mod (I could of course just plug the mic directly in), my wife's helmet also has one fitted which means we can both "transmit" to the GoPro, so it records both our voices. I can also detach it and clip it to my shirt for other types of "off bike" recording. Hope that helps and thanks for watching

Have you tried the regular MT10? I'm wondering about the Öhlins suspension is worth the few thousands quids?
@Carlshandlebarsandholidays2 жыл бұрын
Hi, no I haven’t rode the std bike, but having had the MT09SP until very recently, if I’m honest I’d probably say no “for me”. I think there’s a small percentage of people who could actually get any benefit from it, but lots will buy the SP just for the additional shiny bits, & hey, what’s wrong with that LOL
@Greddi2 жыл бұрын
@@Carlshandlebarsandholidays Many people see the Öhlins suspension as a trackday tool. I'm more interested in the Tourings capability. As I have already tested the standard MT10, I find that the rear suspension is a bit stiff on uneven tarmac. Do you find your self comfy on slow speed uneven roads, with the MT10SP?
@Carlshandlebarsandholidays2 жыл бұрын
@@Greddi to be honest I couldn't really say, I only had the bike for a couple of hours and all our local roads are pretty much super smooth, can't say that I noticed it being a harsh ride, but I also don't know how the suspension was set, it would just have been on factory settings. One thing that might help you, when I got my MT09SP brand-new, the factory settings were very hard, I softened up all the suspension and it did make a MASSIVE difference.
@cuttsy0072 жыл бұрын
@@Greddi the biggest advantage I've noticed with the SP suspension is you can set it to soft comfy mode while around town and then when you get to the fun smooth twisty roads you just flick it to hard sporty mode. Not having to compromise 9ne way or the other with suspension settings makes all the difference for me.

I have the standard version, and tried my friend's SP version yesterday. The SP feels more smoother and more stable. And the SP's brake is stlightly sharper. I regret not got the SP now...

How did the MT10 compare to the GSXS1000 that you tested?
@Carlshandlebarsandholidays Жыл бұрын
Both really nice bikes, "for me" I found the GSX a bit easier to ride, the MT was a bit more aggressive maybe, but as I say, both really nice bikes.

@@iancameron1188 the MT 10 Generation 1 has more Punch at 6000 rpm. The CP4 Feeling is in Generation 2 more linear and less aggressive. I personally prefer the engineperfomance output from the Gen1 MT10. Best Greetings from Germany

@@Carlshandlebarsandholidays I do a lot of 300-mile days through the mountains of New York State. If a bolt comes loose or your chain needs attention, you MUST have a proper toolkit, because the nearest "bike shop" might be 100 miles away. PLUS- I would never leave home without a flat-fix kit, on any of my bikes. Don't ask how I know about this.. and No, a back-pack is not the answer.
