Glad you still love it mate. After 6 years I fell out of love with mine for a number of reasons. I had a few issues one being a rear shock failed a few weeks out of warrenty and Yamaha flat refused to play ball on it (offered me free fitting if i paid for the £600 shock lol). I could never get the suspension right, was always too hard or too soft, suspect if i had the SP i might still have the bike but alas the sp wasnt anounced untill after i had already bought mine. I tend to tour with friends with much longer tank ranges so that became a problem there as well, and finally i 2 up tour alot and the wife couldnt get comfortable no matter what i did to it and an old neck problem flared up so i needed some more wind protection. I hung on for the new ones launch hoping it might adress one or two things but it didnt, so she went 5 weeks ago. Still hoping yamaha will give it the tracer treatment in the future so i can get back onto a cp4 :)

Hi, I've just bought a 2016 MT10 with 4800mls and five Yamaha services. It is completely as new and standard apart from tail tidy, Yamaha screen and Yamaha heated grips. I am blown away by it and am averaging 41.4mpg which I think is good, ultimately limited by the small tank. Even at today's fuel prices it cost only £19 to fill up yesterday! Keep up the good work.

I think I will be stripping the whole bike this winter and going over every nut and bolt and replace a lot with titanium bolts and fasteners too. Awesome looking bike! Been watching your updates since 2020 when I bought my 2016 second hand at 4000km. Your bikes is looking complete now 👍. Too bad your Woolich Quickshifter doesn’t work nicely. I’m using HM standalone blipper shifter and it’s absolutely flawless, very smooth up and down. Maybe give it a try? Fully customizable using a laptop, but simply just choose the HM Seamless Shift option to give the best, smoothest shift at all gears all rpm every time. Sharing a few things I’ve done: made into a ‘Tracer’ by adding Shad 3P system panniers, Shad 58X top box, puig touring screen, modified seat to lengthen the pillion and add contour, custom grab bar for pillion. Now very comfortable for riding two up with my wife. Such a powerful motor and never lack of punch. Power wheelies at 5th gear. Yes the bike seat is kind of small, however I’m 60Kg and she is 53kg, so we fit nicely 😁. I had some issue with the ABS where front lever keep collapsing intermittently, so I bypassed the front and rear brake, change to braided brake lines, Brembo Red pad on the front, and now the brakes bite & feel is so amazing. Mine is the grey one but hv painted the wheels gloss Black. Your SP is of course looking premium and I’m jealous 😂👍

I love the CP4 engine all R1’s TBH - I doubt if anyone has lowered bars, whole point of the bike is more upright and the foot pegs are different to R1 so would be very uncomfy that way I think.

Also i've heard that the seat of the MT10 is sitting loose. I mean if u not sit on it u can jiggle jiggle it. is that the case on the SP version also? Thx for ur review :)
@MOTOUK12 жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 I’ve not noticed the engine runs hot but when I had it woolich flashed we adjusted the fans to kick in at 95c not 100c all helps. On the seat yes they move a little but can be solved very easily by adding a stick pad or a rubber cushion pad. I’ve tested a few bikes from different manufacturers and also some of their seats do same

riddle me this why design a machine that requires you to have an inside leg measurement of basket ball player? Okay I said it to make you think, the bikes seat height is too high. there millions people who ride bikes and there would be a lot more if the seat was a bit closer to the ground. nice review and its an awesome bike
@MOTOUK12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for tuning in, i know what you mean, when i look at a lot of manufacturers, seat heights range from 820 to 835mm on most. You can get lowering links for the rear suspension and some manufacturers do a lower seat, but normally at the expense of cutting down the seat padding making most uncomfortable then.

I found my black touring version a decent replacement for my FJR1300, much lighter but not as comfortable. The only niggle I have with it is the very plasticky look of the whole thing and the unnecessary fragile panels they put on. The sound is awesome though, either on part throttle in town or full chat on private roads...cough :)
