Man, yamaha did some tricky things with this model. It's basically a 2021 EXR with different bars, trim, and footholds and it actually weighs more than the 2021 EXR. I've had two of these and ridden them a decent amount and the biggest thing that separates them from the spark trixx is they can't do the wheelies that a trixx can. It does have more power though and can turn better.

I've been out on mine twice now. On flat water, 50+ is no big deal, but in a busy lake with lots of wakes you start to go airborne somewhere between 30 and 40mph. I like that you have to read the water and work with it instead of just cruising over everything. It is a real workout and I don't see myself getting bored of it.

I’m taking delivery of mine tomorrow! Ski is literally perfect for what I want to do and at a great price tag. I heavily considered the sparx trixx but ultimately I didn’t like you have to remove the clam shell to service it as I’m going to do all my own service. I do like how they didn’t use the carbon seal design on the trixx though. Def an advantage. But ultimately I decided the jet blaster, with e trim and the most reliable engine in the pwc world, the tr1, it sold me heavily. Great review, probably the best one on KZbin right now.

Have a 2021 spark 3 up convenience package and after having it over a year now I definitely do love it. No issues at all so far and same battery. The only thing I’ll tell anyone in there market for a spark or this wave runner is don’t expect it to handle rough water well or be comfortable after riding for over 30 min. I bought the aftermarket seadoo seat for the spark and it by far makes a huge difference. So much more comfortable and I feel like it does handle rough water better. Both skis are great but I will say, if you plan on keeping either one of these for more than 3 plus years… then I’ll just say get a bigger ski like a gti130 or the wave runner FX. Still can fling them around while also going for longer rides.
@andrewsilver2 жыл бұрын
Interesting... I have both your recommendations: A Seadoo Spark Trixx but he 2-UP model (smallest lightest ski with an ECU tune for 110HP, to replace my old 96 XP); and a Yamaha FX-SVHO (also with an ECU tune to open it up to ~300HP and 71-72mph). I've had many Seadoos and Yamahas over the years. The Seadoos are a bit more fun to drive, but imo they are over-engineered, hard and expensive to repair, and seem to be less reliable than the Yamahas. Just my opinion...
@Tanmancoolio2 жыл бұрын
Would you recommend the 3UP? Are you able to do wheelies as easily as the 2up or is it harder?
@andrewsilver2 жыл бұрын
@@Tanmancoolio good question, I'm not sure. I went with the 2-Up because I wanted small, light and something to replicate my old XP. I've seen folks on 3-Ups and they seem to be able to do wheelies just fine. I've noticed that if I have more than 1/2 tank of fuel, it's harder to do wheelies so I keep it less.

Although both jet ski's fall under the "rec light" category, there is a significant difference in price and what you get for that. For price, if you're looking for something cheap and light just to get out on the water to have a good time on, then it's the Sea Doo Spark/Trixx. If you have the money to buy a wave runner, then buy a Sea Doo GTI which is a much better jet ski for the same price.
@asswhole010 Жыл бұрын
Incorrect. Having owned both Sea-Doo and Yamaha waverunners. The Yamaha:s require little to no maintenance at all and just keep going and going with being ridden hard and put away wet.. Sea-Doo on the other hand you can do all the maintenance in the world and there will be lots of parts to replace very soon. Sea Doo ski Doo any of those don't know how to make dependable and for that reason recommending them in any fashion is irresponsible.
@mikemayoral7356 Жыл бұрын
@@asswhole010 I completely disagree. Your opinion is coming across as disingenuous. Here I was thinking you wanted to be taken serious in your videos. Sea Doo holds over 50% of the market share for a reason. A couple years back they had an issue with their carbon ring due to a shortage of marerial in Mexico where they were produced, but there is little concern for that on the more recent models. Every manufacturer has their "issues". You can pretty much google every jet ski model to see what their issues are. Bottom line, the GTI is a much better jet ski at the same price point. GTI has been well known to be the #1 jet ski of choice for the same price point as a waverunner. It's why some of the biggest names in jet ski reviews and discussions recommend the GTI 170 as the top entry level jet ski to buy outside of the rec lite category. You're doing a serious disservice to your audience recommending a waverunner over a GTI.
@asswhole010 Жыл бұрын
They like Polaris side by sides hold market share by building a product that entices people to buy it and they make their money on the comeback for parts and maintenance. I know because I've been around it my whole life. You can rag the shit out of a Yamaha and it will just keep going.. I've towed many seadoo skidoos artic cats home. Very rare to ever need to tow a Yamaha in My experience. Perfectly genuine comments. Sea-Doos may very well be fun and they may even be fast but in my experience not for very long.
@mikemayoral7356 Жыл бұрын
@@asswhole010 If you're basing the difference solely on your personal experience around the maintainence of each, why even bother doing a comparision video of the features? Nothing in you Spark vs Waverunner video talks about maintenance. You could have made a 2 min long video and just say don't buy a seadoo due to its issues. Your video talked about fearures and comforts. Naturally a jetski that cost $3000 more will have more comfort and features over the cheaper product. Keeping it apples to apples, comparing a waverunner to a GTI should be viewed on what each is bringing to the table at the same pricepoint feature and comfort wise. And in that comparision, the GTI wins hands down. Even Kevin Shaw from The Watercraft Journal says the best entry jetski is the GTI 170. I'm sure you'll agree the Kevin Shaw is well informed enough and has the extensive knowledge to make that claim since PWC's has been his whole life and has raced before. I don't think he would mislead his viewers into buying a seadoo GTI over a Waverunner. He's more of a Kawasaki guy now. Honestly, you're the only reviewer I have seen so far with the opinion that seadoos are extremely unreliable, outside from those who are Yamaha fanboys.
@asswhole010 Жыл бұрын
First of all I believe you're confused. I didn't make this video. I'm just commenting on your comment. Commenting about my personal experience with many pwc's over time. And as I've said Sea-Doo doesn't have dependability on its side when in comparison to the Yamaha's. You can disagree and that's fine I assume you're trying to sell Sea-Doos though because I've never seen one hold up.

I would say the spark feels a bit cheep but after I bought my spark I wouldn’t change it. If your a bit bigger I would Suggest the Yamaha. If your a bit lighter I would suggest the spark. The plastic is there for a reason on the spark and it makes the machine so light. If you want to cruise and do a bit of tricks, or take a friend or 2 get the Yamaha. If you want to ride solo then take the spark. It’s mainly about the size and what you prefer as fun. The spark weighs 400 LBS and the Yamaha weighs 550. The spark has high impact resistance so you can hit the waves pretty good and not worry too much if you land wrong (about the machine not operator). The Yamaha I’m not too sure.

It’s 50% more of an all round watercraft too. It’s not competing with the Spark imo, it’s far more accomplished than the Spark. Try towing two tubes simultaneously with the Spark ? Try taking your partner out for a run across a lake or up a river with the Spark. The JetBlaster is also far better (smoother) than the Spark across the ocean and choppy waters.
