I have zero complaints w my 21' 636 have ab 4800 miles and just put a new rear tire, rode a far distance fast everyday for work. other then maintaining/checking the chain and fluid levels its been just me riding it!! Heavily suggest this bike to someone who doesn't think they need a 1k just yet.

Thanks for the review. I saw a 636 in green at the dealership yesterday. I sat on it and it felt good and it looks good. 600's are fun to rip on in corners and slipping through traffic. Your review has been very helpful with the comparisons to the other 600's and your opinions as an owner. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to your adventures on your new bike. Enjoy it and stay safe.

Currently saving for a 636, I’m on a 400 now and I can confirm the confidence difference is a real thing. 400s are great to start but for “spirited rides” or being a street Rossi it doesn’t do the same as the 636

The 636 will be an amazing upgrade for you!!! I definitely agree that the 400 is an awesome beginner bike and since you learned the proper techniques on that you should be able to take advantage of the power of the 636 right off the bat vs someone who started on the 636 and has to learn everything still

As a child, I learned to ride on cousins' Yamaha Warriors, but from teens onward I've always owned and ridden Honda on dirt and Kawi on street. First bike was '03 CRF150F, barely a year later bought a bored out '03 CRF450R. Quite the jump, but it broadened my skillset rapidly. For street, I started with the '07 ZZR600 (sport tour remanufacture and rebadge of the '00-'02 ZX6R). Also had a '05 Concourse. I currently own the '21 ZX6R in teal, and it's a blast. Depending on who you are, it could be a good first street bike. If you come from hardcore trail or MX riding, it'll be no sweat; a totally new rider may have to take things slow and be disciplined, and luckily there are software nanny aids to help with that.

The Kawai 600/700 have been my dream hikes for years. I always thought I'd kill myself do never got into motorcycles till a few years ago. It was love at first sight when the new 636 was shown. This color scheme seems to be a throwback to the 1989 ninja600r. Iconic bike in my opinion. I got the blue one and it’s kind of dull and generic looking.

I also currently have a 400 and was thinking about this as my next bike. How do you feel about the ergo on zx6?
@gdrummer39292 жыл бұрын
It is aggressive ergonomics way more than the 400. My girlfriend has a 2022 400 and I ride it more than my 636 because it’s so easy. The 636 is second to none in my opinion and ergo is a little more relaxed than the r6. The 636 extra low end is great for city or town riding and really pulls hard on the highway. You can’t go wrong with a 636 for your first super sport. The cbr600rr is amazing as well. If you want real aggressive ergo and like to keep it red lined then the r6 is your jam.

my brother started on a 1000cc bike, I personally am an adrenaline junky, I push my car to the limiter constantly even during the day but especially at night. My top speed ever was 182MPH. So I've been looking into this bike for awhile now because I know for a fact I would just crash almost instantly trying to achieve a top speed similar to that of my car or above what I am currently able to reach. I don't have any bike experience though but I do some basic manual skills so I'm definitely going to cop this soon.
@dg80622 жыл бұрын
I envy the fuel mileage. I ride a mt10 with an exhaust/flash and get 25mpg most of the time, maybe 30 if I'm not pinning it. Have a '21 3rd gen mt09 I bought new last year, it gets considerably better mpg. That's the price of admission for the big cp4. This is THE 600 to have, especially since yamaha discontinued the fantastic R6, the only realistic competition for this bike. An exhaust and a competent flash and you're in the money. I've found there are some pretty hack tuners out there that I wouldn't let touch my bike/ecu. Chris Moore or 2wheeldynoworks are competent tuners to name a couple. I use Vcyclenut because he is the yamaha mt guru. NICE BIKE!

The 636 pulls the best of that group due to the extra cc's, and because Kawi started shipping it with a -1 front sprocket a couple years ago. Basically comes with a quick acceleration kit from the factory, at the expense of top end speed... Most of them top out in the low to mid 150's top speed, but they pull really nice...
@L.Rey6192 жыл бұрын
I can definitely feel the acceleration!! I’ve gotten my 636 up to 164 but that’s what the speedo said which I’m sure is not 100% accurate, I haven’t done gps speed testing yet
@Daves_Man_Cave2 жыл бұрын
@@L.Rey619 Yeah, speedo is off 5-8% from the factory. My new R1 is off by 6%, verified on the dyno... 600's just don't have the HP to push through the wind at truly high speeds. Super tuned up Isle of Man TT 600's struggle to hit 170, and those things are modded to the moon...
@sleeper.simulant73272 жыл бұрын
The 636 pulls to 160 mph 10 seconds faster then an R6, 22 seconds with the 636 vs 32 with the R6… that’s a pretty massive difference
@Daves_Man_Cave2 жыл бұрын
Those numbers are way off. The 636 in stock form doesn't even do an actual 160. Maybe with a tiny rider, slightly downhill with a tail wind.... lol Starting in 2019, Kawi started shipping them with -1 front sprockets to help with acceleration, which lowered their top speed. Not that a 600 has enough muscle to really go higher than 160 anyway, but the Kawi is now gearing limited to 161mph, and that is ONLY if you can get it to bounce off the rev limiter at 15,500rpm in 6th, which it won't do in stock form because the ECU closes the secondary butterflies at 14,500rpm... Realistically, its a 155mph bike, tops. And it doesn't get there 10 seconds before an R6, which makes less down low but absolutely rips on top...
@Daves_Man_Cave2 жыл бұрын
@@sleeper.simulant7327 The reason the Kawi pulls faster to 160 is because of that -1 front sprocket. Kawi geared the bike to where the aero limitations are... The R6 comes geared to do well over 170, which of course it doesn't have the power to do. So that 150-160 range takes a whopping 16 seconds because the R6 is geared too tall... Drop a tooth off the front sprocket like Kawi did, and that will change things a good bit. That's a gearing change, and not much to do with the rest of the bike. Kawi has a couple extra CC's, but they also lowered the gearing from the factory, basically giving the common "quick acceleration sprocket kit" that most 600 riders do aftermarket...

Currently on ER-6F 2010/Ninja 650, using for daily work commute of around 100 miles to and fro, do you think this bike is usable for daily commute? I don't mind the ergo etc, just the power band & engine usability. Cheers!
@dblackviper2k32 жыл бұрын
Definitely useable, just going expect the same fuel mileage as the 650, and you'll need to use the more expensive fuel. The 636 still gets good mileage and is fairly comfortable.

This model does not have abs. Only the KRT models have them. They may have the wheel speed sensors but they are for traction control which a lot of dealers get fooled and think they have abs
@L.Rey6192 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing this, just confirmed this to be true… dealership gave me the wrong information!
@miket3taylor2 жыл бұрын
Dealers get fooled? Haha! All you got to do is look up the VIN number and it's going to tell you whether or not it has ABS
@miket3taylor2 жыл бұрын
@@L.Rey619 yeah, and they probably overcharged you. There's a premium for abs. You got took bro
@TheBadassOne172 жыл бұрын
@@miket3taylor should rephrase, the sales ppl get fooled. When I was looking for the abs version, they kept telling me they had it in stock but it was the black & red and teal. I told them those didn’t have abs but they swore they did. I ran across 3 different dealerships who said the same thing, before finding one that knew the difference
@TheBadassOne172 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would go back to the dealership if they charged you more, get the difference back since it doesn’t have abs

@@nickcolando9974 Not in the low rpm range. I'm not saying any one is better than the other because there are multiple factors that people weight differently. The japanese bikes are surely better for parts availability, ease of maintenance and the zx6r is probably the best value. On the other hand, my insurance for the daytona was $30/month lower than the zx6r, probably because it gets crashed much less often.

@@ja31472 no I believe in the low rpm range it does pull harder. and we aren't talking about insurance, not sure why that came up. im talking bike performance
@ja314722 жыл бұрын
@@nickcolando9974 "we aren't talking about insurance ... im talking bike performance" I'm glad you have the resources to get yourself a motogp bike and don't have to worry about money at all. As for us mortals, we always need to consider performance per price, unfortunately, and insurance can be a major recurring cost, equivalent to 2 sets of tires + labor installation yearly. "I believe in the low rpm range it does pull harder" Numbers don't lie. Google "daytona 675 vs zx6r vs cbr600rr vs gsxr 600" and see the graph at cycleworld. Except for a minute section at 7000 rpm, the 675 beats the 636 in hp from 5000 to 11000 rpm. And forget about torque... the 675 murders the 636. In all other places they are equal except for the last 1000 rpm. Having owned both I would agree that for most people a japanese bike is a better choice. If you ride legally and safely on the road, do regular checks and are diligent with chain maintenance, the only time you have to take it in for maintenance is valves and spark plugs. You just can't do that with triumph.

Nah dude no problems at all… in my personal opinion starting on a bike with no abs is better because you will have to learn proper braking techniques that abs does for you making you a better rider in the long run… as long as you don’t suddenly squeeze the brake to full pressure you’ll be fine… hope that helped🤘🏽🫶🏽
