I have been lucky enough to see not only the 992 Sport Classic, but the 997 Sport Classic at the same time. They both belong to a family that lives somewhere in my area of Scotland, and there was a local car meet that they both came along too. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, rallied around these two cars, and I got the opportunity to sit in both of them to take photographs. What's better is that both the husband and wife who drives them were really friendly, and they apparently take them out often and not locked up like garage queens. Super awesome experience, the interiors in particular really stood out to me, especially the 992's interior with the wood accents, felt real premium.

We don't get the 997 generation here in the states, so I have only had the privilege of seeing the 992 generation, but you are absolutely right. Right, the interior is something very special. It's really easy to dismiss this car as an overpriced collector's car, or something that Portia is just having a money grab with, but at its core it is a truly special car and in my opinion is worth every penny to the right person.

The Sport Classic might have the most power on paper, but its not-so-svelte (3461lb) curb weight means it has the same 3.9sec 0-60 time as its lesser cousin, the GTS (manual), and 0.4sec slower than the manual-only 911 S/T. Don’t get me wrong, the Sport Classic is hands down the most beautiful modern Porsche made, and it’s a great GT (Grand Tourer) spec for long cruises.

It really is more of an exquisite grand tourer. It's like an espresso, rather than a cauldron of coffee.

Its really too much money for a 4secs o. To 60 car in my opininion, lol i would better take the caiman or boxter for the same performance and less than half the price , that 911 is a well known history and a name is what you are paying for and that is not making you any faster.

For some cars, the performance isn't the only part of the price, I think what you said is spot on, this car's price is heavily influenced by its historical significance.
