I’m honestly surprised how gaudy cars from BMW, Mercedes, etc are these days. All of the screens, lights aren’t luxurious to me. If anything it dumbs down the class of these cars significantly which is ironic.

It's a cool car but everything, including the door is electronic. It's to the point where cloth seats and roll down windows would be nice. Sometimes, I just want to get in and go. With that said, the 7 is probably the nicest current BMW.

Modern 7 series are fantastic cars to drive but are virtually un-diy-able. So if you plan on owning one out of warranty just add 50% to your monthly payment to cover repairs.

It’s always better to flip a switch, than to sift through a series of menus! With a switch or a knob, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road, with a touch screen, you barely have time to look at the road… What road? Seriously, the move to touch screens is unsafe.

The screen isn't so much the issue, in my opinion. I think it looks quite good. It's, again in my opinion, the fact that so many controls the previously used to be physical and tactile, moved into the screen. For instance, you used to have a slider in between the dashboard vents which enabled you to quickly increase or decrease the temperature of these vents a bit. On my car, that now requires a tap, another tap, a third tap and sliding a virtual slider left or right. It's ridiculous and completely unnecessary but of course it saves BMW a few pennies because they now don't have to design multiple versions of certain components depending on which options you have or haven't got. Same thing for the 8 shortcut buttons, a unique BMW feature that truly was fantastic to use. Now they're gone, moved into a screen that appears when you swipe down from the top. And apart from ridiculous, it's also more dangerous in my opinion, because it's hard to aim a tap on the screen while you're driving and the car is wobbling left and right (I still regularly miss a tap. I've had this vehicle for over a year) while you can find a physical button without taking your eyes off the road just by muscle memory I do still think though that, indeed, nothing gets better than a BMW. Well, except for the infotainment that is

The shape of this car yes resembles an E38, but the LCI would sell well, the w223 s class is a repeat of a w220, cheaply made and unreliable, my MB mechanics think the G70 is a better car overall, if you can remember the controversial E65, the LCI version outsold very well, peak S class is just w140,w221 and w222

Warning, a random stream of thoughts... God stop with the touch screens everywhere, don't get me wrong I like a good touch screen I even don't mind the center one that much(at least it doesn't totally look like an iPad slapped on the dashboard...) but the ones on the rear door cards, yuck. It looks like cost cutting without admitting it, why put R&D money into designing nice seat controls, with *tactile* physical dials and buttons, when you can just slam a slab of touchy glass in, make it software controlled and call it a day. BMW used to be classy yet modern and progressive, now it's just trendy flashy unicorn vomit everywhere. This unfortunate new trend is sad, but business is business and this is what generates them the most revenue. Could they do design differently, could the keep the v12, of course, but why risk it? Pouring resources into designing a more physical interface and making the v12 more eco, just to sell it once and maybe make some money out of servicing it for a few years before it depreciates into oblivion, it's just not worth the money.
