2023 BMW S1000XR 1000km update

I REALLY Missed my Africa Twin, but I've finally bonded with the BMW !
I worried for the first 700km that i shouldn't have traded my trusty Africa Twin.

Michelin Road 6s GT s are game changing tires. I put some Gel on my seat and put leather on it to avoid the heat although I think I would get Alcantara now. Beautiful bikes.

Having owned a 2017 XR and sold it after 3 monthsI with numb hands, bum and feet ,,( might be better now) I prefer the Valkrie next to it!!!I now ride a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT + 🥰

No vibes from this XR, apparently they fixed that . The Valk is smooth for sure I had the FJ09 (same bike as the tracer), it was a great bike too.

Exotic bike for exotic people. Is the engine about the same as S1000RR/M1000RR? Slightly less top end? Other camshafts?

Well, I’m not so exotics . Same engine as the S1000R, same Engine as the S1000RR by the RR has different Cams and ECU tune. The M1000R, XR etc has the same engine but different cams etc

Is the ABS able to be totally switched off ?

I believe so, but im not 100% sure. you can also turn off stoppie control somehow as well, part of the ABS I think
