Another awesome review. You guys really don't have any competition . Ive only owned and ridden 2 ATV's in my 58 yrs. My first was a brand new 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700. I bought it to trail ride. Rode it with almost no issues up until 2010. Sold it and left the ATV world until 3 months ago. I purchased a new 2023 Can Am XTP 850 to get back into trail riding here in the mountains and open prairie of beautiful Wyoming. What a difference. I love it. I have less than a 100 miles on it. It runs lean as hell, pops and backfires when you let off the throttle and the plastic by the seat next to the exhaust manifold gets very hot. I sent the ECU off to a reputable company that specializes in Can Am ECU flashes to simply richen it up and make it run cooler. Looking forward to seeing the difference. Thanks again for the great reviews!

@@DUNEATV I agree. Recently went to an advertised ATV poker run here in SE Wyoming and was shocked to see out of an estimated 250 entries it was 95% or better SXS's. Coming from sport atvs, I just bought a cfmoto 1000. It's about 5k less than this, has bigger tires, a winch, more storage, adjustable shocks, beadlocks, better clutches, and will pull me, a passenger, and some cargo to well over 60mph. Needless to say I am happy with my choice. That being said this is definitely a gnarly machine!

I have a 19 outlander 850 XTP and I had a 2020 renegade 1000 XXC… I say “had” because I traded it last year for a 2022 outlander 1000 XTP. The outlander is a better and more versatile machine in my opinion. They are very similar in performance but the outlander simply has more of everything, more features, more storage, more towing, winch, mud protection, bumpers, etc. Re: outlander XXC vs. XTP, I didn’t know there was a difference in the suspension. I thought the only difference was an aluminum skid plate, color and the XXC doesn’t come with a winch. For my money, the 850 XTP is still the best all around ATV.

Good review! I almost bought a G1 XXC Outtie back in 2013. It's still a regret I have not buying it. It was a whole different machine than this new XXC. It still felt light, small, and nimble. And even though it only had the 800cc engine, it still would give this new one a run for it's money. This new one is just too big and heavy, and reliability is still a question. And I still believe an ATV is not an ATV without a winch and full racks.

There are slight size and ergonomic differences between the outlander and renegade. Some of the guys I race with won't race anything but an outlander having come from the Scrambler. Polaris and Yamaha are at races this year testing new platforms, so the xxc's may have competition. I highly prefer the Outlander over the Xxc. Both are about 3k more than a Grizzly. Which is a strong argument for just getting the Outlander 1000 which can spank the Sportsman XP 1000. But it pains me to say that the Grizzly is vastly better than all of them 99 percent of the time on a trail. If I were a dare devil I would get the Outlander for the straight line performance and bragging rights. But I am just not. And most people are not. If you are not a dare devil and you have to put your hand on a Bible and tell which you really enjoyed the most. You have to say base model Grizzly 700 first choice, and King Quad 750 eps plus second choice. That hurt to say that but it is correct for me.

@@DirtObseXXionI agree, you definitely need both! I've amassed a whole fleet of offroad machines now, something for every mood I'm in. Picked up a 2022 brute force "for the wife" for the mud trails, just last week finally got my 2013 Suzuki z400 that I've wanted for years! Boy are the later fuel injected models hard to find in good shape in my area, 2nd last year they were made, I'm glad I persisted finding Ona them, paid dearly for it but boy it was worth it cause that's an AWESOME machine. It just does everything so well, it's the perfect mix of race quad, sport quad, trail quad, and it's got REVERSE !! Then I got my first machine I ever bought still, my 2005 Honda 300ex, what an awesome reliable sport quad, just fun all around. Modified pretty heavily now and it's an overachiever for sure. It's taught so many inexperienced kids to ride a manual clutch sport quad, and got them hooked on the fun of drifting and wheelies that sport quads offer. Then I got my 2003 kx125 for those days where I wanna feel that crazy rip of a 2 stroke powerband! Now all I need is a banshee yet and I'm all set! Also got our community 2010 prowler 700 for everyone at the cottage to use. 30" mudzillas on her, she's unstoppable in the muddiest of trails and usually serves as the tow out rig lol. As for reliability on that one....well let's just say I don't wanna talk about it lol Keep on riding, love what u guys do here!

With the power and clutching of a machine like this, the front end will come up easier than some. It still takes some effort and know-how though. A manual machine with a true clutch like a Raptor 700 is easier to pull it off. That said, this isn't really a beginner machine unless you have restraint and will power. There's more motor than chassis and brakes and knowing your own limits will go a long way.. I'd never dissuade anyone from getting a machine for that reason, but I'd recommend starting on a 700 class machine or smaller if you don't have a ton of expirience. You'll be surprised at how much power an ATV in the 700 class has... But they're a little more forgiving...

so my question is this .....which is better all around for mud and trail riding? is the outlander a better machine all together?
@DirtObseXXion
@DirtObseXXion Жыл бұрын
Are you asking about the Outlander vs Renegade? If that's the question, the answer isn't very straightforward. For mud, or even pretty muddy trails, that's an easy one.. The Outlander offers far more mud protection so you won't be wearing globs of everywhere on top of the machine.. For hard pack trails and XC racing, the Renegade has the advantage of clear line of sight to the front tires. That's going to be important to racers who are playing with millimeters of clearance at high speeds.. The line of sight is better on the XXC Outlander than the XTP because of the front rack being removed but you still can't see the tires as well as the Renegade.. It's a happy medium of vision and mud protection for us while still having the racer suspension.. Obviously all of them can do whatever you want and that isn't considering the XMR version.. Those are the key differences tho..

I had both Outlander xxc 2019 and Renegade xxc 2020. The Outty is on the plush side, high speed drift feel "wobblely" in some situations. The ergonomics are on point. Th Rene xxc just slide better and flatter. The immediate response make it feel more precise. Not to mention about the lighter front end that pops wheelies on demand. If you do not work with your atv go with the Rene hands down.

I ride there all the time with my XXC. Definitely more jeeps and sxs there,but the trails aren't terribly rutted...yet. Not as big as LBL, but way bigger than Canmer with marked trails.

@A Mccauley Nice! Canmer is just super close to home for us, and convenient to film.. I like White Sulfur, LBL, and Red Bird Crest when we're just riding.. Harder to film at those places tho..

Great video guys. Cant decide between an 850/1000 outlander or one of the new 700 outlanders. Coming off an 08 grizz 700 and want some more juice. Hopefully you guys compare the new outlander chassis to old in a shootout soon!!!

Well done sir, so the outlander 1000 x xc is more of a race 4x4 and it offers more for that style than the renegade x xc? Dang, so if I like to hunt but aggressive trail ride, you said the xtp?
@DirtObseXXion
@DirtObseXXion Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's really a comparison of features that boils to preference of suspension and either prioritizing front racks and a winch on the XT-P or skidplates and better sight lines on the X-XC.. They're both great tho.. And you can add Skid plates to the XT-P or add a winch to the X-XC

@@DirtObseXXion it is funny how 5 years ago we all said, paying 15-20k for a sxs is stupid, then sxs went to 20-30k and now sport quads are 15-20k and we rationalize getting the most bang for our 15k 😳🤓 Well played atv manufacturers well played 😂

@@brutelife9177 I think it will be back. My guess it's finally getting some updates, hopefully updated 4x4 activation and suspension.. Kawasaki has done this with other machines, the KLR disappeared before it received it's updates.. Either that or it will be replaced with something slightly smaller like a 500 class machine.
