@EastCoastATV Жыл бұрын
Great video! I'm glad you mentioned the price differences compared to performance levels. Personally, I compare models by price, not engine size. This is how I would look at it - The Grizzly 700 SE costs $15,200 according to Yamaha's website (Canada). The Can Am 700 is $3,000 less and it's a faster machine. A Polaris Sportsman 850 Ultimate Trail or Outlander 850 XT are the same price as the Yahama. The Sportsman and Outlander have far more hp and are much faster. The Polaris is much narrower in the middle too. The Yamaha has a reputation for better reliability but you're paying quite a bit more for what you get. The Grizzly 700 is a beautiful machine BUT power-wise it's in the same class as a Polaris 570 Premium with a winch, a front bumper, and steel rack extenders for $11,100. That's $4100.00 more for the Yamaha for roughly the same power and options. If Yamaha sold an 850 for the same price as the 700, or even $1500 more, they would pull sales away from Polaris and Can Am. Anyhow thanks for the great content.

In our group the two brute force bikes break down the most. One of the polaris bikes has a lot of issues but manages to make it back with trail repairs. My two hondas (rancher / rubicon) are always reliable and end up donating their gas because they are the most efficient. I picked up a grizzly this year and so far its been great but time will tell. Some of our rides in wisconsin can be 6 hours one way from the cabins. I will happily be the slowest bike in the woods as long as I don't have to be behind a tow rope or dealing with repairs.
@liamrobinson2084 Жыл бұрын
I always wonder with the whole paying for a reputation of reliability thing: how big a difference is there really? I know how much it sucks to have your ATV break down in the woods first hand, but that was a 20 year old Polaris Sportsman. Is the difference in modern ATVs really that big? Is it worth a 25% premium between the Honda and the small Canam?

I think if you guys were to spend a day on the sportsman 1000, you'd take back most of the things you say are excessive. Yes, the machine is capable of wearing you out if you ride at the limits all day because as you stated, it has far more capability than any of the other machines you tested. I would challenge you, however to spend the day riding normally on one, like how you ride with family and friends. You'll start to notice that when you're not trying to be Ricky Bobby, you can cruise along at speeds that the small bore singles can barely achieve with 1/4 the engine noise, less effort, better ride quality and precise handling. This turns into riding literally hundreds of miles in a day, day after day while not being totally beat to death... you just need to spend some time on it to get past the honeymoon stage of all that power...

They should just test every single ATV out there and pack it all into a 15 minute video….what idiots.

Yamaha will last forever and retain a high resale value. I have 2007 kodiak 450 that i have killed for 16 years paid 8k brand new. Oild changes and regular maintenance and keep her clean and indoors she looks really good and probably could sell it a couple less than i paid for it...

Now put a Can Am renegade 1000 vs these and see who wins. pretty sure my 2012 800 ren xxt could beat that 700 outlander quit easly.

Nice fun impromptu comparison! Hey Honda get off your ass and make a 4x4 with power and suspension! I bet they would sell a few....
@larryw5429 Жыл бұрын
That honda shows that gear on gear puts down power where and when you need it on the bottom! For a work machine it would be Honda and Yamaha because of durability. The rest are junk.

You’ll need that 2-3k for parts lol

Grizzly needs different tires and rear seat taken off i have a similar rear seat 30-40lbs extra sitting on the back
@JoshuaOverman Жыл бұрын
Yeah wasn’t really fair they should’ve raced the base model grizzly on smaller regular tires and without that seat.

The only way that yellow Can-Am has a chance of beating the Yamaha Grizzly or the Honda as is if it came with a free mechanic other than that don't waste your money the reason why they priced them lower because after a couple years of ownership you bought the bike three times over Just in repairs and parts, that makes sense very hard to promote something that's cheap and that's garbage we are all smart enough to know you pay cheap you get cheap!!!!!!
@Icutmetal7 ай бұрын
So you’ve owned and ridden one of the brand new from the ground up 500/700’s?
@firstoutlander3 ай бұрын
Delusional brand loyal bot, tha Can Am is better in every way and possibly even in reliability when you consider ho well they do in Baja, gncc and desert racing. All for a better price is a no brainer.
@truthnow9023 ай бұрын
@@firstoutlander well everybody has their right to their own opinion right Can-Am is garbage all you have to do is your research I actually know a few people that own them problems after problems absolutely junk but that's why we have so many different brands people like different things me number one on my list is reliability durability you'll never get that from a Can-Am or Polaris!!!!
@firstoutlander3 ай бұрын
@@truthnow902 What do you know you’ve probably never raced any GNCC, Baja or any grueling endurance race. You never see a Yamaha or Honda 4 wheeler in any of those finish because they break when pushed to the limit, we know from racing those. They break frames, steering components and yes engines. Under regular riding conditions they are okay if you want boring, I race to win or have the most thrills and sorry your toy can’t compete.
@truthnow9029 ай бұрын
Well have you guys ever heard you get what you pay for Can-Am is cheaper than Honda because it's garbage I wouldn't buy one of those if they were the last ATV on the market or a Polaris they're both ugly and both garbage you pay more for the Honda but you're not buying the Honda to win drag races you're buying it for reliability durability and when you're going on a on the trail you don't want those other two big pieces of drunk you want a Honda would be really nimble on the trail and you know you're going to make it back home!!!
@thomaselectriccollc859029 күн бұрын
Your just butt hurt because you purchased an inferior machine and paid more for it. The CanAms are reliable, just look at all the long distance endurance races that they dominate in. Truth is you have to tell yourself that to justify you overpaid more and got less, it’s slower, doesn’t ride as good, less comfortable, not as much fun, has less working capability and your at the back of the pack.
