I just ordered an $80,000 Lariat Lightning with standard range battery for $56K with 4000 miles on it. It’s going to be my daily driver. I do not tow and I do not need it for road trips. I love the power, the technology, and charging for about $12 versus filling a gas tank for $85. I know the truck is not for everyone, but it IS the truck for me. 👍🏽👍🏽

It costs $150 to fill in Canada. I can go from paying $300 a month for fuel to $50 a month for electricity.

We just purchased a 2022 PRO last month. We LOVE IT! We don't have the ER battery, or the 9.6 Pro Power. You are right! it MOVES! My husband thinks he's something in his truck. We own a small home improvement business so the vinyl is PERFECT for us. We average 2.8-3.1 mi/kwh, so our range is EXCELLENT.

Congrats! It's a great truck. I love the Pro model's back-to-basics approach. You still get plenty of amenities, but no unnecessary, over-the-top features. Thanks for watching! - Craig

I just got my 2023 lightning two weeks ago XLT standard range 57,000 0% interest for 60 months through Ford it’s the best truck ever! They definitely put the purchaser before the investor. It’s very robust, smooth, fast and comfortable.

That's the truck that I wanted how ever many years ago Ford advertised it for 20K less - please do not lecture me about what caused the change in cost - I've followed it carefully and would still love to have one. I have the flexibility and where-with-all to make the 50k version work but Ford's messed this up so much I just can't .. . . . . . . . . . . . sigh.

Agree on the battery size for the Pro. Would love an option for the larger battery or better yet the development of a small ICE range extender.

@@raypeeler3585 unfortunately a basic generator wouldn’t really add much range, and therefor value, to an EV pickup. It’d have to be a pretty sizable unit of on the order of 50-75+kw to really do anything in that regard.
@ALMX5DP
@ALMX5DP Жыл бұрын
@@raypeeler3585 agreed. A generator isn’t a terrible idea if you have the bed space available. If you could put something that at least outputs 30A service then that would be pretty fantastic to add maybe 12-15 miles of range per hour.

Was looking in at the Lighting Pro, then at SoCals ~.28¢ per kwh ( current gas at 4.99$ Costco) a vehicle with over 40mpg is actually cheap to run. Granted you dont have ICE maintenance like fluids and such plus
@WildcatWarrior15
@WildcatWarrior15 Жыл бұрын
For me personally, I pay $0.114/kwh at home. At our current gas prices in the midwest, that is about a 67 MPGe assuming the Lightning gets ~3 miles/kWh

What is interesting is that the PRO model has all the hard parts. AWD, tow hitch, e windows & door locks, ac, the better models just add window dressing. Im debating weather to buy a 2nd hand Lightning as without an engine or trans those are the 2 expensive parts which if bad can make a used vehicle a lemon. Not so with an EV unless the batt pack is bad but the dash will give you a diagnostics read on the health of the batt pack. Im thinking about it. !

How did you get a Pro Extended range truck to showcase? Is this your truck? Is there some way that the public can purchase one of those trucks? They're the perfect truck.
@EVPulse
@EVPulse Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the general public cannot. You have to have a Ford Fleet Identification Number. We agree, it's the perfect version of this truck. We receive media loans from the manufacturer for the purpose of reviews, which is a pretty common industry practice. Wish we could say this truck was ours, though.

They don't do specific auctions. They just go to local car auctions like what dealerships and stuff use. KZbin doesn't like sharing links, but there's some car websites that have covered it in detail worth searching out if you're interested.@@brianbecker1180

240 miles is not enough for most folks? How cute, I put 70000 miles on a 240 mile range model three in 2.5 years or translated to dumb speak about 28000 miles a year or twice the national average miles driven, this includes two trips from Seattle to Wisconsin, one from Vancouver BC to Indio California, (in two days) and several regional 800 mile road trips through the most rural states in the union. What a joke. The average person drives less than 30 miles a day and the average road trip only covers 400 miles a day.
@EVPulse
@EVPulse Жыл бұрын
Yes most people don’t need that range. Obviously. But towing drops 240 to 120-150. Most people want the buffer even if they don’t need it. Also your model 3 peaks at 170 kW. Lightning peaks at 150 kW. Plus you had the advantage of the best charging network.
@brianbecker1180
@brianbecker1180 Жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you that 240 miles is plenty of range in the city. My only concern is when I want to go on a road trip. Driving above 70 mph reduces the range. Mix in winter time and it reduces more. I imagine a model 3's range at highway speeds is way better than an F-150's. Now, I don't want to buy a truck to handle the 1% of things I do, but I do want a truck that does EVERYTHING for me. Having that extended range on a pro would be the ideal truck. Solves every problem for me. Only problem is you can't get one.

If your going to work out of it you will drive a lot more than 30 and get 150 mpg and spend a couple of hours a week charging it
