It might, I don't have any experience with actually putting a front locker in an independent front suspension GM. I would consider replacing the entire front diff, including the housing. Things may have changed recently, but it is my understanding that the front diff housing is aluminum and not real strong on the standard 4x4 GM vehicles. I'm guessing they've beefed things up for the AT4x.

That V8 has loud lifters, fuel-injectors, or something?
@imnotusingmyrealname45662 жыл бұрын
It's a V8.

Fuel injectors are loud...i thought the same on my 21 Custom TrailBoss 5.3L V8
@EngineAdventures2 жыл бұрын
It is a pushrod engine so it might have noisy lifters/pushrods. That can happen because often the longer pushrods can resonate a little louder sometimes. I don't know for sure though.

All they need to do is have the hitch press some lever when it's inserted that prevents the top part of the tailgate from coming down. Or some sensor, etc... You're right about the screen , they should just put a scale on there just like you would have on a map. Super nice truck.... But who the heck buys it ? Doctors ? I'd never pay that for a car ..
@EngineAdventures2 жыл бұрын
There is a hitch cover that curt makes that flips open and disables the upper gate when a hitch is in. It's pricey, but there are plenty of $80k trucks on the streets around here. Thanks for watching!

@@EngineAdventures buy it used for 40k in 2 years lol.

I wish, vehicles hold their values too well now. That might change as the economy continues to get worse.
@imnotusingmyrealname45662 жыл бұрын
@@EngineAdventures I've noticed that too. It's infuriating that people are willing to pay that for a used vehicle.

Unfortunately in two years it will probably be worth 70k…. I would rather buy it new if they are going that close to msrp for a new one

An 80k 4x4 with lockers that has a transfer case that kicks out of 4x4 into 2WD due to overheating is absolutely unacceptable. I’d expect an actual transfer case that isn’t switch on the fly so it doesn’t try to kill you on a trail or leave you stranded due to loss of momentum.
@EngineAdventures2 жыл бұрын
It can be avoided with different driving techniques, and isn't likely to be a problem. However, I agree with you that a different transfer case should be used in a vehicle designed for heavy off-pavement use.
@imnotusingmyrealname45662 жыл бұрын
Phew. For 80k it should come with the supercharged 6.2.

Prices for everything are crazy this year. I made a 2022 year end review video with every vehicle I tested and the top 10 vehicles I tested this year. One truck is on there just because it had a really good price tag. I had some technical difficulties, so instead of the 30th it won't be live until the first week of January.

@@EngineAdventures Good to know when it's live. Sounds very interesting.

For 80k I'd probably go for a denali ultimate with a 3.0 duramax for more features/better ride, I wouldn't want to risk banging up a 80k truck offroad lol

I think red tow hooks are just a status symbol for a lot of people. Gotta have the Raptor, TRX, ZR2, AT4X, G Wagon, TRD Pro, because it looks cool. Yes there are plenty of people that really use these vehicles, but there are many who navigate potholes and speed bumps with them. I'm not offended by people buying them to never leave pavement, just saying a lot will be used that way.

Love the truck but the truck manufacturers have taken me out of the new truck market due to them being way to much money hell no am I paying 1500 a month for a pickup truck

New trucks are certainly expensive (I don't own any vehicles newer than 10 years old).

Interesting color, but not for me. Did they get rid of the afm/dfm? Nice looking interior! 😎👍 Great review as always. Love to see a review of the Tundra...heard they're having quality issues!?

As far as I know it still has AFM. I do have a 2022 tundra video up on my channel, I wanna say I posted it in July, but you should be able to search it.

Toyota has already taken care of the major wastegate issues w/ the turbos....as for build quality just minor kinks to iron out in the upcoming years. Currently I would be ok to purchase a 2023 Tundra with no major afterthoughts. As for long-term reliability, will have to see how the dual turbo and or with hybrid performs in the long term
