Thanks for showing us slower runners. My daughter and I were somewhere in the scrum 1hr55 and 1hr56 finishers. For me 1st HM for over 30 years during which I have spent 3 years on crutches and another 3 years with a leg brace and walking stick after losing 10 cm of tibia in a motorbike accident. Long, long goal of mine to do this.

That's fantastic Andrew, and so good for you to share it with your daughter. Sounds like you have been through a bit of a journey and huge kudos to you for having the determination to get back out there.

Another awesome video and one that I’m proudly in. More so, I am also proudly a “record breaker” in my own right. I’m happy that at 54, I came in at 1:27+ and finally broke that 90 min. Now for my next journey - my first ever marathon. Thanks for the vid - a good cross section of efforts and abilities that you don’t actually get to see when you are on the course!

I should have added that I was particularly proud that I got to run with my 16 year old son for his inaugural 10km on Sunday. (I was tired on Sunday night!)

Awesome effort mate and congrats on breaking through that barrier. Onwards now to the full. Have you got one picked out yet?

Congrats to you and your son. And huge kudos for backing the next day.

@@runwithwoody Just seems right to make the inaugural the hometown. So Melbourne in October is the one!

Great vid Neil. It must be killing you to be at these events and not able to run. I was there on Saturday and ran the race of my life, mostly because of a PB, but also for running the back half on a torn knee meniscus. I go under the knife next week and rehab it from there. You know the drill. It's gonna hurt watching my partner run all the races we had planned to run together, especially her birthday half marathon at Jetty to Jetty, but I will live to run another day, and so will you. Chin up, and keep up the great content 👍

Cheers mate, and thanks for those kind words. Huge congrats on the pb under difficult circumstances. You probably have had the op now so how it went well and you are well on your way to recovery.

Cracking job Neil. I'd like to have a go at the gold coast one day. Wonder what the course elevation gain is, do you know ? How flat and fast is it?
@runwithwoody Жыл бұрын
The Gold Coast course and reasonably flat. The half has some bridges which go over the canals, the full has a couple of little rises and a longer one around 31k, but nothing too steep. It's well worth putting the weekend on your list.
