In the diesel palisade (latest model) we get about 7L /100km around the city. Much better than the petrol in this review.

A bit over a month and 4000kms into the Highlander version of the Palisade and I do have a few things I have to mention: 1. I wish the Highlander had the Calligraphy options, quite a few are missing in the Highlander, things like the 3rd row electric, the ajustable (up & down) back bolster, a better audio, garage door link, AWD, ambiant lighting (however, the highlander does have power folding side mirrors the Calligraphy doesn't have).. to name a few. 2. The infotainment is laggy until the engine is running and does have a few bugs. I love what they did with the engine: Otto at low speed and Atkinson at high speed, minimising carbon built up on the intake valves and high compression giving it a good punch and fast high rev reach and it is very quiet. The ride is very comfortable, (just have a look at those massive back shocks). Tyres are a huge downfall being very noisy and will be replaced by Michelin's much better Pilot Sport 4 as soon as these show the slightest sign of wear or before (they're virtually the same price). Fuel consumption surprised me (I do own a Rubicon V6 3.8L and it sits between 12.5 and 13.5L/100), living in FNQ halfway between Cairns and Townsville, I get great consumption, as low as 8.3L/100. I do recommend an oil change (not included) at the first 1500km service, it made a huge difference. The next service will be at 10K and every 10K after that to make sure the engin lasts, since it is prone to overheating if pushed for long periods of time. It is not a sports car, but can handle itself when asked to, otherwise, it gives me a very enjoyable, stress free ride. I do not regret my purchase, even though I was also looking into the Mercedes GLE 450, but gave up knowing the extremely poor customer care and services Mercedes is known for. There are my thoughts of this model... One would ask why Petrol? Well, for one I suffer from Asthma, Diesel is a no-no as the car is parked in a garage. Secondly, it is smelly, noisy and tends to vibrate quite a lot. I also don't feel it confident enough to carry 8 people and their gear for a long trip (for me: typically 200kms between Cairns or Townsville airport and my place)...

You can change a setting in the Stereo options menu so that it isnt on split screen. Then Android Auto will display correctly. I fixed mine the other day.

just over 2000k and can't fault the AWD Diesel (Elite) , we sat in every possible 7-8 seat suv/4wd bar the $100k plus variants (patrol/cruisers/etc) and none of them have as much room as the Palisade nor the comfort/ride ... Paul would love you to do a mogul/log hill test on one ? maybe a challenge with it's closest competitors :-)

Had my V6 Highlander since last year, was one of the first to get it as i got a bit stuffed around and was offered the demo which only had 1000kms on it. They're a great car, this needed to be rwd as the torque steer is pretty bad when you put the foot down. Loads of room for a 6+ foot person like my self and fits all my fishing + sports stuff in the back. Quite and smooth and handles very well for its size, very good sound system. Decent on fuel as it get around 8l per 100 mixed and running around the SE suburbs of Vic around is at 10l per 100.

I have got the new 2022 Diesel 4WD Palisade, everything good~ solid, big and comfort with modern design and techs. however, I have watched many many reviews and videos before I bought this car, there are some features missing if I buy this car in US or Korea, the features like electric third row, interior ambient lights, built in dash cam, massage seats, front console climate touch screen, mobile phone digital keys etc. but the price is more $$$ than these countries. I accept some points that there are freight cost and luxury car tax etc. but still pricey despite these features missing.

Hyundai produce some great,reliable cars ! Not a big fan of the petrol version.The one to go for is the diesel Santa Fe which offers great torque and impressive mpg. Buy the diesel and you won't be disappointed.

In Canada you can find only v6 petrol and AWD. It is only good option for this car. I can not imagine why someone need this car without AWD or on disel. Disel makes 12days/100kmh. AAAAA

Great review! I'd be glad if Kia Hyundai removed all of their auto wiper feature from their cars after owning several, the sensors they use must be something from the early 2000s, it's completely useless and never turn on/turn off when I need it to regardless of what sensitivity I use.

Wireless carplay / AA in my experience is worse, wireless charging the phone gets too hot, espcially in australian heat, plus also they disconnect when going under toll collection points (at least in the hyundai's). I'd rather a cable to charge and display any day of the week. Also the hyundai lane centering function is terrible in nsw roads at least, and you need to turn it off everytime you start the car, and its done through about 5 menus on the steering wheel. That reverse test is absoluetly ridiculous lol

Just on the full screen AA: try it with a Samsung S22. You should find it works just fine. I have a MY22 Kia Cerato which has the same head unit system and screen ratio and with the latest software update and an S22, you get the full ultrawide experience.

I feel like trunk space should be less in favor of leg room in third row. These cars arent meant to carry 7-8 peoples baggage while simultaneously carrying them. You can add it from within the settings menu. You can configure the spare button on the steering wheel to be a shortcut to what you want. You can also configure the spare button on the dash to be what you want 👍 I have set passenger talk shortcut on the steering wheel button and Apple CarPlay shortcut on the shortcut button on the dash.

I wish all these car makers would make rear wheel drive when it’s not AWD. The weight of these cars with a V6 engine doesn’t make sense. Putting all that power to front wheels causes under steer and oversteer when it can be avoided with rear wheel drive. Towing is an issue too, all that pulling on the front wheels transfers to the steering wheel.
