2023 Lexus GX460 Blackline Special Edition: Start Up, Test Drive, Walkaround and Review

👋 In todays review we check out the new 2023 Lexus GX 460! This is one of the top of the line SUV's in the Lexus lineup and has so much to offer including the Blackline Special Edition Package! The new Lexus GX 460 has a new update for this model year which is the new infotainment system! It's large and has a lot of info, it's also touchscreen if you'd like to use it that way! On the exterior of this 2023 Lexus GX 460 it has bold lines and a square shape design overall. The front end has a nice look with the large hour glass shape grill and is proportional to the size of this SUV! This Lexus has a sunroof which is nice to see, blacked out wheels and has a towing capacity of 6400 pounds! The 2023 Lexus GX 460 would be a great daily driver because it has the capability to tow if needed but it also has plenty of interior storage and even a third row for extra passengers! The third row is adequate for space, so full size adults could be back there if needed, but it would be mainly for kids. I will say getting into the third row isn't the easiest, the front seats do not fold forward to give you that space, you do need to climb over the seat so it's slightly inconvenient. The second seats are very comfortable and are even heated which is nice to see! The driving experience for the 2023 Lexus GX 460 is comfortable and smooth! Lexus's drive very nice and it would be perfect to drive every day! I will say that this is on the backend of technology and performance still utilizing a massive V8 that doesn't have a lot of power, even though it can tow a lot! It would be more efficient with a hybrid system so we'll see if Lexus updates the engine being offered!

Not being overdramatic, this is the second best vehicle money can buy. The Land Cruiser. 200 series takes the top prize. But for 62 grand, this is the most reliable, durable, luxurious and capable vehicle money can buy. You can laugh and say it’s a dentist wife’s car, but this is a true classic. Cars nowadays are disposable and have problems at 50,000 miles. You can keep this car for 20 years and still sell it for 20 grand when that day comes.

2022GX Black line here, so sucks that I didn’t get the ML sound system and the 360 cameras, but I can live without it. Now the 2023 gets all that but instead of the black/grey seats it receives a light grey. Glad I have a 2022 thought it was a black line. Awesome car I live upstate NY and I average 20-23MPG. Ppl don’t let the MPG deter you from considering this vehicle. This is as good as it gets. Cheers

@@skoolynugenator1802 when I’m on the highway I get great mileage, also your 4Runner has a 5 speed trans GX has a 6 speed trans. Do I baby it? I do sometimes, but I’m technically doing 65-75. Trick is get the vehicle up to speed then keep your rpm’s under 2k or at 2k. Can’t go wrong, again I have a 6 speed tho and those numbers are strictly Highway! No 360 cameras on a 22’ GX black line I was bummed out about it but hey less moving parts equals more reliability I guess

What make of Michelin tires are on the GX460? I just recently got a Volkswagen Tiguan last month. It comes with Pirelli P Zero tires. They don't seem to grip all that well. Accelerating from a red turning left. The tires wants to spin. I love Michelin tires. That's all I buy. Michelin is the gold standard to me. What Michelin tire you think would go great on a Tiguan? I'm thinking about the Defender or Primacy A/S.

I had a 22 4Runner and now a 23 GX and the GX is better because the AC vents are on outboard sides of the ceiling instead of being low on the front console in the 4Runner.

Build an engine that can reliably output 400 hp but tune it to produce only 300. Engineers refer to it as a safety factor and that’s one of the reasons which makes this great engine super reliable. My father’s Sequoia with this same engine had over 360,000 miles and it ran like brand new, the only maintenance he ever did was regular oil changes

Does the 2023 GX 460 also has this awful super long gas pedal throttle ? This is really what make me stop buying this vehicle. I drove a lot of different vehicle, that's the first time I encountered such long gas pedal. You literally have to drive the car with the tip of your foot to get decent acceleration...

I own a 23 GX460 after owning two 1st gen Sequoias and one second gen. I also own three Tundras. They are all working vehicles. Although the brute power of the second gen Sequoia is wonderful to hear the truck got too big on the outside with much less usable space and it's cheap inside. The GX doesn't have as much power but it has plenty, and it's built for low engine stress in doing reliable work for decades. It's got great torque and shifts well and is so much more comfortable. None of my trucks will break down but the Gx is my daily choice. It is incredible to drive. It's a genius combo of brawn, luxury, capability and reliability.

Yes. It’s known for reliability. But what’s different as any other Toyota/ Lexus more likely known for. This one is bad on gas mileage and hp isn’t enough for it’s heaviness. Plus the tires road noise and not that smooth and quiet. Sure it’s SUV but for Lexus brand with old school engine and technology, it’s not worth it

If you are one that seeks the latest tech, this vehicle is not for you. This vehicle will not wow you, it’s not the fastest BUT it’s a proven reliable vehicle that will last you for years. If you want fancy push buttons or yearly updated black plastic, look elsewhere
