I was recently in one of these...AX7 L here in SA. It's a really nice SUV. You can pick these up in the second market for almost R50k to R70k less than what you would be paying for a brand new one. Ride quality and interior quality of the "L" model is pretty good. There are quite a lot of plastic trims in the second and third rows but I wouldn't make too much fuss about it. "L" model comes with a lot features like adaptive cruise control and the 360° camera, which makes it easier for day to day use of the vehicle. The camera is a must since this vehicle is quite big. The camera quality is also crisp and clear. The infotainment screen is amazing. There's no lag especially if you are using Android Auto...Google Maps are very clear and easily usable. That engine is really something. It packs a lot of punch. Also it's very responsive and to an extend fun to drive. But since it's an SUV, there is a fair amount of body roll. The engine makes you want to drive this is as if it is a 3 series or a hot hatch but if you have a family in there, they won't like that at all. Negatives: The Sony sound system in the "L" is ok. It does a fairly ok job but it is not the usual Sony quality you would expect. Another grip I have with the XUV700 is the lack of a proper blindspot monitoring system. I was happy with the old school mirror check. But what the "L" model does is whenever you turn, you get a camera feed pop up in your instrument cluster from the side mirror cameras. I feel this is a bit gimmicky and would prefer the tried and test BSM indicator in the side mirrors. Fuel consumption seems to be quite horrible. It seems like this SUV averages around over 10L/100km, which is quite ridiculous. The last gripe I have with this SUV is the lack of a load cover fitted directly from the manufacturer. So if you go shopping and decide to drop the last row seats, your shopping items can be seen through the back windows. Haval H6 and Tiggo 8 Pro come with a load cover. In SA, a load cover is a must and Mahindra must make a plan for this to be installed on all the XUV700. I mean if you going to work, you need a space to put your laptop hidden. But otherwise this is an amazing SUV. I would suggest finding the "L" model in the second hand market. Some of them come with additional extras such as side steps, tow bar, protective matte film over the large infotainment screen (this does help reduce glares and keeps the screen clean to an extent). To be honest, I would probably pick AX7 L over Haval H6, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and even some of the mainstream competitions from Toyota and VW.

I enjoyed your review of the XUV700, its beautiful and its opinion spliting shape will grow on you as you emotionally connect with the car. I drive the 2019 XUV500 W10, it is a wonderful vehicle for the price I bought it for brand new. I fell in love with the quirky exterior shape. After driving it for a while I discovered many other quirks such as: the infotainment screen, controls for lighting (driving lights, high beam and so on) and a lazy 4 gear. The car is enjoyable to drive, well balanced in curves and has a strong 2.2L diesel engine. I am very happy with the car. Take care

Why why AX5. I am the guy who dont mind the cloth seats and most of the extras. Just want a reliable affordable seven seater. The entry level XUV 500 served me fine and the price was right. This one not affordable at all. Most of the fancy 7 seaters are driven by a female driver with no passengers just as status. The Avanzas, Ertigas and grand Lavinas base spec are the real peaple movers.

Personally I love the mahindra products. Correct pricing my G is serious problem on new cars. However, the back up for the vehicle seems worth it ?? Service plan for whole time on finance (provided you not on road every opportunity like me)😮‍💨😂 Sunroof as standard is a nice touch. Leather can be included after market once and just past it once off or have mahindra organise it as part of sale tell them it must come on the 5 seater or you don’t want the car 🤫🤓 Then the installment of R10k plus best not to consider 😀🤢🥶scary stuff

I bought an XUV700 after watching reviews like yours and others. But what you guys did not pick up was the performance of the infotainment system. In todays world, the digital technology matters just as much as the mechanics. You guys need to review this properly before making recommendations. The XUV700 Android Auto keeps crashing every 10 minutes to the point its not useable. You have to pull over and stop&start the car for the infotainment system to restart. The bluetooth car phone has very poor voice quality. These things matter and you need to test this. And also they say wireless Android Auto in the brochure, but as soon as you ask them to add Apple Carplay, the Android Auto then only works in wired connection (it looses the wireless capability). Mahindra does not respond when you complain about the Android Auto issues because they know their software is crap. Plus this car is not designed for our climate. Everytime there is a heavy Joburg storm, I get water leaking into the car from the front ceiling speaker. #MahindraSA #mahindrasouthafrica #mahindraxuv700 #xuv700
