2023 Mercedes GLA 35 AMG POV DRIVE

Even the Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 is still pretty quick and has some good performance with that 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder and that 8-speed dual clutch. I’d still prefer the GLA 45 with the more powerful tune for the 4 cylinder, this is still a good option for an entry level AMG. 302 HP and 295 lb ft (400 Nm) of torque is still nothing to joke about (It's AMG, they know what they're doing with engines). Not great that the suspension is pretty stiff though, but it is a performance car, so kinda makes sense. And also 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway is actually pretty good for a turbo 4. Pretty efficient~

i really don't know if it makes that much difference going from the 35 to the 45. It is less than a second quicker and you pay so much more.

I own a GLA45 right now, used to own an A35 sedan. Huge difference in the engine and trans. GLA is a 23, A sedan was a 21, so only a cou-LE years difference.

@@danielliu4224 I agree. When I had my A35, the trans was what made it somewhat fast. 45 should be the starting point.

The 21" wheels only come with Sports tires, so not very good for winter driving.

Car and Driver wrote this Engine, Transmission, and Performance The base, AMG-massaged turbocharged four-cylinder makes 302 hp in the GLA35, and Mercedes claims that's enough to zip the SUV to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. The higher-powered GLA45 can do the same deed in a claimed 4.3 seconds. In our testing, the previous generation GLA45-which made 375 hp-hit 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, so we think Mercedes is being conservative on its acceleration claims for both of these enhanced models. The GLA 35 AMG 0-60 should be around 4.6 and someone tested the GLA 45 AMG 0-60 at 3.9 secs.

@@billwalbek1911 paying amg prices for a tune and wheels, you can get the same aftermarket for a couple grand instead of paying 10k+ for a rebadged 250. what do u think?
