I’m a big proponent of bringing back retro styling to resurrect the JDM scene. I love the Z and its looks, and it’s unquestionably a driver’s car. However, as midrange performance cars go, the market is severely overinflated. I’d probably go for something actually affordable (comparatively), like a GR Corolla or GR86, which start at $20K less. Modifications could be done with that 20K saved that would arguably make those cars a better deal.

All these dudes thinking "$50000" is affordable are either making way too much money or haven't actually financed a $50K car for just 4 years yet. If you go past 4 years to lower your monthly payment, you're pretty much wasting money because this car, or any normal'ish spors car for that matter, won't cost $50K after 4 years. It will depreciate like any BMW and AMG car. If you can finance it for 4 years, and can afford it without costing a leg an arm, I want to ask this question to you specifically, why would you buy this over the manual supra? And don't tell me the whole "Toyota got BMW to make it" because so what? It's a great car with better interior, more tech, more power, better tires from the factory, arguably better sound and more aftermarket support due to being B58 motor in it. Why would you? I'm not telling you what to do with your money, I'm just asking out of curiosity, why would you buy this? It's the same thing with new C8. If people could actually get the new C8 for under 70K with Z51 package, it literally is the best car for under 100K. Both in terms of its performance on the track, the way it looks, the sound, the transmission, and tech. It literally is the budget supercar but only if you could buy it for $70K and it would've made both the supra and nissan Z a pretty stupid choice. Let me know what you think?

I think it's brilliant, and I wonder...does the computer have a baked-in protocol where it doesn't unlock all of the powertrains capabilities until a break-in mileage threshold has been passed (the Focus ST has this from the factory, which is why people that test drove them, were underwhelmed). With that being said, it's awesome that they made it in the firstplace, and I think they would be wise to bring back an SE-R Spec V Sentra now too.
