Not sure if you'll read this but I've been following your channel well before I came to the UK as a student a year and a half ago. You've instilled such an air of inspiration in me to chase my dream of starting my own business and eventually pivoting toward the niche I want to specialise in. Your story is inspirational and your entrepreneurial spirit resonates with all the young ambitious guys out here trying to make it. Appreciate all the meticulous honesty and the absolute lack of any act you could put on. I wish you all the success in the world, you deserve it man. Keep being real and keep growing.

Your used car reviews are VERY important, other channels + TV shows are always doing new cars. Loads of people like me never buy a new car and watching old reviews doesn't really help because there is no knowledge of what the ownership and issues with the car are. Plus the fact you write entertaining and informative scripts.

The 7 day a week work bit was interesting; I have also worked 7 days a week in the NHS, but I don't drive a Range Rover or own multiple properties. I think the difference is, you've put your time and money in the right places, and that's really inspiring and must be commended. Your point about having "two months off and everything will implode": Have you ever thought about passive income? Great channel, great content! 👍

Hi Matt Love your videos - and in this one you mentioned the guy who wound you up! This has happened to me - especially after selling up in UK and risking everything by moving to France to run a Gite business and also work as a surveyor - 7 days a week between the two - very few holidays, but loved the work, helping people to work through the maze of buying a house in a foreign country and giving people great holidays. I occasionally came across the comments you mentioned - "What a lucky bast.... you are" etc My standard comment was always "The harder I have worked the luckier I have seemed to become" - usually shut them up!

I've got a flipside for you regarding people commenting on burning out, I burnt out at 46, but I have a farm, London house, cars and a good life now. I rescue animals on the farm and enjoy my time. Do what you can whilst your young and you have the, key word here, energy. Matt, I really enjoy you channel(s) and your work ethic is admirable but I’m concerned about your emotional health and wellbeing. I’m a fair bit older than you and a few years ago I was working so hard “chasing” success that I ended up neglecting other important things and ended up “burning out”. At the time I didn’t realise it was happening; I was driven but hadn’t really visualised what I wanted and so kept slogging away. It was a costly mistake, in many ways. It’s taken me a while to get back to being me and rediscovering myself. The fact that you aren’t building in any down time might come back to bite you if you’re not careful. You said you “ don’t want to be the richest bloke in the graveyard “. Stepping back and taking stock as the New Year starts might not be a bad idea. Sorry to sound like an old fart, and while you’re incredibly dynamic and driven ( excuse the pun) I’d hate to see you burn out. Just give yourself some opportunities to step back. It’ll give you a perspective that might pay you back in spades later on! Have an excellent year!👍🏻🍺

@@mikeprice5755 well said Mike. I completely agree. After my ‘burn out’ I had to spend years building myself back up. I retrained as a coach and NLP practitioner to help others avoid the mistakes I’d made. Relentless activity is the source of burnout. People that are driven need to step back from time to time but too often they’re afraid of coming off the boil. The irony is taking a short break will actually make you more effective. Anyway, a HNY to you also! 👍🏻

Same. Self employed / Ltd Co. Worked minimum 90 hours a week all last year, pulled a good few over 100 too. It becomes a problem, a way of life. I started to diss what I call "easy streeters"; you know 9-5 ers that drive their little sensible car 0.3 mile to the office and back again, home by 17:15, even via Tesco, walk the cockapoo and all done by 630pm for a night by the telly... Hmmm; I couldn't take pride in that. But burnout has occurred a few times. Mid 40's and it will catch up with you; and you will make yourself ill. Is it worth it? What happens is you create a monster - and then you have to feed it.

I know im a bit late to the party but its a great watch, many thanks. What you said about being relatable and honest is so true; I'd much rather watch you buying older affordable cars and telling amusing stories about your day to day business than watching someone driving about in a crazy expensive unattainable (for most of us) car they've paid for by going viral on tiktok. Hi Matt, living your videos, Luke you I enjoyed watching Wheeler Deelers, Top Gear, etc. My car ownership is quite varied, the highlight being a Vauxhall Cavalier SRi back in the 80's with the lowlight being a Renault 9 which was ok but not something I'd want to repeat. My first car was a Mini 800cc in Champagne Brown which I shared with my twin brother and we both passed out test in. I now live in Australia which has a different car culture to the UK with a fan base for Ford or Holden (Vauxhall) and fans of each are very loyal and decent their particular aligence fiercely. Lots of pick-up trucks or Utes, some hot Utes driven by Boy racers, high powered Utes, also lots if big 4x4's but unlike the UK these are often used for serious off-road driving for fishing trips or camping in the Bush. I can't drive at the moment due to health issues but still dreaming about getting back behind the wheel so find your channel interesting. Following you last Q&A video the question about other KZbin channels got me thinking about TV mechanics, if you could have a nachanic attached to your business would you choose Ed China or Any Anstead?

Regarding the huge price gap between petrol and diesel, this is down to supply and demand. Diesel is used as a heating fuel on the continent so demand increases in winter, added to the fact that we used to import a lot of refined diesel from Russia, means that we are now importing it from elsewhere at a higher price. I've also heard that petrol prices sometimes come down towards the end of the year when there is a surplus in America, following peak demand in the summer or "driving season".
